Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

I doubt that Iron Maiden are trying to tease us to build up hype. Instead I reckon they just want to maintain fans' and media focus on the second leg of the Legacy of the Beast tour this summer. Although it's pretty obvious to us that they're recording a new album and I suspect it's also an open secret in the Rock media too, if Maiden were to come out and say "yeah we're working on a new album" before the tour even starts then everyone gets distracted from that. Instead of journalists asking "how much are you looking forward to bringing the Legacy of the Beast tour to North America?" they'd be asked "what's the new album like? Will you give us a taste of it on the tour?" etc which would take attention away from the tour. Plus if any journalists spill the beans ahead of time I cna imagine Rod putting them at the back of the queue for access to the band, or even denying access all together.

I guess the FC magazine at the end of the year might comment on some of the Instagram deletions and make up a humorous reason for why Kevin removed the posts.

Could we have a topic solely meant for studio pics / band in Paris sighting pics, so that I do not need to crawl through this megachat?

Then they aren't fans. :D

French fans don't have to explain themselves to the likes of you

It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Maiden have hired security to keep overexcited fans away from the studio. Or maybe when Rod sees someone lurking he'll say "someone call the gendarmes".

I kind of doubt it. I think most people are smart enough to leave them be and the ones that aren't are probably turned away at the door if nothing else.

I can see why the post was taken down. Kevin takes a selfie and the first 10 comments are people asking if Maiden are making a new album. Even if they weren't, it would still be annoying for him.
yes, but why don't to say: They aren't. I'm here to record Joe Bonamasa or another artist. Rumours finished :)

Watch out, I remember someone called Bruce a liar when Rock in Rio was released and Steve lost the plot over it!

It was on the official forum.

Prior to the release of Rock in Rio, Bruce had said in some interview that there was no overdubs on Rock in Rio, and some fan pointed out there was on Brave New World as you could see by comparing the TV broadcast to the promo clip of Rock in Rio and the fan then explicitly accused Bruce of lying.

Apparently it had not been an "overdub" per se, but rather Steve copied and pasted a line in the chorus where Bruce hadn't sung to cover up the fans singing. Bruce may not have even been aware that had been done. So Steve released a statement saying he was disgusted that Bruce's integrity had been called in to question and threatened to close down the official forum. I think there may have been some sort of restriction placed on posting or something like that, I don't really remember, maybe Ghost of Cain remembers or anyone else who was around at the time.

EDIT: I think they ended up closing down the General Chat on the forum as punishment

This seems like an overreaction. ::)

It was also unnecessary for Steve to add in a line from the studio over the crowd. The sound from the crowd is one of the highlights of Rock in Rio. So many live albums are are totally devoid of any contribution from the crowd and it feels dead without that aspect of a live show.
