It is present on the version on iTunes and Apple Music, at least. I was surprised to hear it since I'd heard the earlier version where it was cut in half. I presume it was added back in at some point when they put up the remastered releases.

e: Note that I bought RiR years ago so it's definitely been that way for a while in the digital release, too.

Never noticed that on the original release. The 2015 remaster includes the whole rant. 2 Minutes to Midnight is 6:26 on the original CD release and 7:08 on the remaster. Since I've mostly listened to the remaster, I figured it was the same as the CD.

I only knew of the difference because my brother had a rip of the original CD release in his Audi and it was basically the only tolerable piece of music on that car's hard drive the few times I had to drive him around. I looked into it and realized it was the same for the DVD release, leading me to assume (at first, anyway) the rip was sourced from the DVD audio. But no, turns out they added the rant back in with the remaster.

Who knows what happened to cause the change. Maybe Steve or whoever thought it was more appropriate in 2015 when Iron Maiden was still a powerhouse name and literally nobody on Earth gives a rat's ass about Britney fuckin' Spears.
 
I'm guessing there wasn't much thought put into that and the rant just happened to be on whatever the source tape was that they used for the remaster.

My guess would be it was only a late decision to remove it from the original release, i.e it was on the mix of the album and got removed at the mastering stage. Then when it came round to remaster the mix , the rant was still on it and got left in.

EDIT: Mosh just made that exact point above, d'oh!

Yes please, I really want to know which kit Nicko is using to record... his TBOS kit is in Florida, so I'm betting it's either LOTB or maybe he brought his old Somewhere In Time kit out of retirement!
