IMO Black Clouds and Silver Linings has really good songs book ended by two BRILLIANT songs. Nightmare to Remember and Count of Tuscany are so good they do overshadow the rest of the album. When I'm driving I usually just skip between the two, rarely will I play the whole album.
 
Well I don't have the whole album but I liked Best of Times more than Count Of Tuscany. The only song other than those two that I've heard was Wither and I really don't like that one.

I love this too, my fave from this album. Their weakest album overall IMO. Get Scenes and 6DOIT next.
 
He definitely chose the wrong song as his singing is obviously not that bad, but yeah pretty funny :D

On second viewing I think we've been hoodwinked, looks fake.
 
Yeah, there have been a lot of signs pointing to Mangini.

But at the end of the video, you can see James say something like "Best one yet" (I can't remember exactly, I'll have to watch it again) after Minnemann's audition.
 
I'm impressed with Mangini. I know him from Extreme and their music is quite simple. (however one of the songs with Mangini has a section in 7/4 if that means anything) So I was really surprised to see him doing this really complicated stuff with DT and I think he would make a great fit. An added bonus is his first name is Mike! I do look forward to seeing the other auditions though, but I'm rooting for Mangini.
 
They're really milking it with this. I wish they could just announce the drummer and then put up videos. Or put videos up all at one time and announce the drummer later. I can't believe they've made the fans wait this long.

Well, he's a professor at Berklee, so I'd imagine he knows his music theory pretty well. He looks pretty funny while playing the drums, but he seemed to really be into it and seems like a nice guy, I wouldn't mind if he ended up being the new drummer. Can't wait until Wednesday to see the next installment.

I think its worth the wait, I really like these videos, they are entertaining :D
And its been fun waiting for the announcement IMO. I mean, I would trust the band to choose someone that they like and will help them play good music. The name doesn't mean too much to me, especially because I had never heard the drummers before all this started.

Mangini holds world speed records (or at least did a few years ago). He can play faster with one hand than most people can with two. On that video, there's a spot in the beginning of The Dance Of Eternity - a fast triplet riff that Portnoy needed two hands to play. Mangini did it one handed without even looking.

Also they say Dance Of Eternity is one of the hardest. How hard is it on guitar? I haven't heard that one yet.

I'm gonna try to sight read it. 
I tried but less than a minute into the song I had no clue what I was doing.
