Adrian's Solo Discography Ranked - The Complete List

64. Time Is A Hunter
Psycho Motel
Average Score: 6.56/10
State Of Mind 2/10

State Of Mind takes its own 1-2 punch with the exit of this song, a sleepy droner that either grooves or bores, depending on your point of view.

Comments:
A slow bluesy number with some Beatles influence that's pretty snooze-inducing except for the solo.
Kinda boring

Welcome To The World 1/13

We round out the bottom 20 with the first casualty from Psycho Motel's Welcome To The World. While this song is pretty good, I do think it's the weakest one on the album. It isn't Andy Makin's favorite either, as evidenced by this interview. (Andy is also believed to have posted here a couple of times as @lungbuster .)

Comments:
I bought these lyrics from "Heavy Metal Song Book Volume 1." How to write heavy lyrics…Ok maybe not but this was a quickie. In other words I threw the lyrics down onto paper and never polished them. They were ok – not my favourite.
Decent opening riff, cool verse. Catchy pre-chorus, but the chorus is pretty monotonous. Nice guitar atmospherics. [...] Good stuff, but not quite on the level of the [other] songs.
Another nicely assembled song.

Average Score: 6.63/10

This respectable bonus track from Awoken Broken is the second-to-last B-side to take a fall. Most votes ranged from 5/10 to 10/10, but a single 2/10 vote brought this one down a little earlier.

Comments:
good song
Love the opening riff and some of the other guitar work here, and the pre-chorus is pretty good. Unfortunately the vocals meander all over the place and the chorus doesn't really drive it home.
I wasn't thrilled with the beginning but by the end I was into it. Decent, but it's definitely bonus track material.

Ah! I read/interpreted it wrong (two to go).

I find that it should do (much) better than the average album song.

61. Killing Time
Psycho Motel
Average Score: 6.67/10
State Of Mind 3/10

Another song from State Of Mind goes down, pulling even with Silver And Gold for tracks remaining. I personally gave three songs from this album a 5/10 rating, and those were the first three tracks to be eliminated, so I'm pretty content with how this album has been treated so far.

This song was apparently the first one Andy Makin sang during his Psycho Motel audition, and it got him the job. Too bad we never got to hear Andy's live interpretations of Solli's tracks...

The song itself is pretty boring IMO, but it looks like I'm in the minority there.

Comments:
Boy, is that song title apropos.
Heavy, yeah.

60. Watch Me Walk Away
Urchin
Average Score: 6.75/10

Limited Releases 7/20

One of Urchin's strongest tracks IMO, this song from their synthy period is pretty consistently good throughout. I gave it a 7/10, so I think the average score is appropriate, but I'm shocked to see it bow out with so many Urchin tracks still to come.

Comments:
A pulsing beat leads into some nice melodic accents and an appealing synth-supported verse. Decent pre-chorus, pretty good chorus. Adrian's vocals are a bit uneven.

Urchin
Average Score: 6.75/10

Limited Releases 8/20

This B-side to Urchin's debut single "Black Leather Fantasy" is every bit as generic as the title suggests. At least it's mildly catchy.

Dave Hall was still doing the vocals at this point, before Adrian took over. I have to say I prefer Adrian's voice.

Most voters rated this a 6/10, but a single 9/10 vote popped it up to #59 in the end.

Comments:
Come on guys, what a boring song. Pale and repetitive. Dull solo. It's very different from the rest because it follows standard rock and roll / blues schedules.
Clichéd, by-the-numbers hard rock, but decently catchy. There's an odd harmonica interlude and a pretty flaccid tradeoff solo where the two guitars play the exact same thing over and over.

Opinion on this one seems to be split between people who think the song is great, and people who think the song is merely OK. You can put me in the first group. Aside from the chorus lyrics being kind of dumb, this track is really strong, especially the solo.

Sorry @Diesel 11 -- it's not a bad song, it's just "Misunderstood".

Comments:
Nice opening riff. I really like the verse and pre-chorus. The chorus is kind of dumb, but still undeniably catchy. Excellent solo, maybe the best on the album.
Awesome solo in Misunderstood!
I think [Misunderstood's mid section] is fabulous. Agree it could also be the best solo on the album.
Lots of nice elements, but ultimately a weaker song. Besides, since when was H misunderstood? We all know he's a god...
Better song than "Misunderstood".
Still better than "Misunderstood".
I definitely think "Misunderstood" is worse.

The album is definitely misunderstood and better than many people seem to think, but the song is just a paint-by-numbers affair.

For me the highlight is the magnificent solo. I can wait a couple of duller minutes before that starts. In Maiden, solos are also highlights of songs for me. Since the beginning. So, if you value the solo highly, you may like the song (be more tolerant of the rest).

No feel/love for great solo/not making a solo important = probably not a good rating of this song
