Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Offtopic question, but guitar related - Does anybody have experience with the Fender Custom Shop? I was wondering which would be the approximately price of a custom made guitar. I've read some bad reviews about the Gibson Custom Shop and also being very expensive.

Also I don't know if some other brands like B.C. Rich or ESP have this service.

I have 2 Fender Custom Shop guitars, but I bought them in a shop and did not order them. I assume you're interested in ordering your own custom shop guitar? If I understand correctly you need to place your order at a Fender Custom Shop dealer: https://www.fendercustomshop.com/how-to-order/
Prices will start at about 2.500 dollars, but I would expect to pay much more than that (depending on the configuration of course).

They have an online configurator which gives you a preventive (if not the final price) for your custom guitar.

PS: both ESP and B. C. Rich have custom shops as well, I think all brands have one nowadays.

For anyone missing the gold AS signature Jackson, it is featured in the new S/K photoshoot with a new covered DiMarzio bridge pickup (one with art on the cover).

I'm far more interested in the swirls/splatters that were used in the previous photo.

This gold Jackson suits Adrian. It looks like power metal to me, idk why!

The splatters in the cover is pure glam metal, which Adrian is no stranger to.

Looks like it could be one of these:

Is anyone able to help? My ears are quite good but I am rubbish at telling what songs Adrian has played using drop D and if he stopped playing a song on drop D.

E.g. I can tell he uses drop D for Aces High in 1999 but not since then. Also it is quite obvious what songs are in dropped in Rock in Rio and Death on the Road.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of songs he plays in drop D, songs he has previously played in drop D, and on what tour he switched back to standard tuning. In just curious.

There are much more models with those covers. Petrucci also had some covered signature pickups.

Wrathchild (until 2003)
The Sign Of The Cross (BNW tour only)
Hallowed Be Thy Name (until 2006)
Aces High (1999 only)
Trooper (this one doesn't really make a difference, so he sometimes played it in drop D, but it has been attached to a standard tuned song since 2003, so there was no drop D guitars used on it since)
CIPWM (same case as Trooper, alhough this one makes a difference as there is use for the open D string, it has been flip-flopping between the tunings since reunion)

Now, there has been a reverse case:
Iron Maiden has been played in standard until 2006, but it has been in drop D ever since. It's also always attached to a drop D song since then.

Am I wrong or did Dave use a Carlsbro ADT "chorus" in 1980-81?
I'm pretty sure I can hear some kind of chorus on the solo of "Wrathchild" in the Live at the Rainbow.
And when did he switch from the Dod 210 preamp to the Boss Fa1?
