Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

If I wanted to build a Janick-like Stratocaster which one could I but that is not Above 2k? All 64' strats I find are Above that price, so I cannot afford them. I would but something like a Dave Murray signature and then customize It, painting in black or White and changing pickups.

I see Nicko from Licks of the best built a Janick tribute Strat and It looks great.

Do you have any experience with building a Partscaster? That would be the most affordable option. The STRATosphere store on eBay has a lot of genuine Fender and Squier bodies and necks. They have just about every part you could need.

If you’d rather buy a guitar and change the pickups, you have a few options (cheapest to most expensive):

Various Squier models
Fender Player Stratocaster (on sale because they’ve released an updated series)
Fender Player II Strat (newer model with rosewood fretboards)
Vintera II 60s Strat (white one is most accurate to Jan’s in this price range, but it does have the very round 7.25” fretboard radius which makes it harder to bend strings)

I'd go Fender Player II myself.

If you want to be really authentic, go Vintera (as Jan's strats have 7.25 inch radius).

Thank you both for the answer. I think this would work and is in my price range.

I would certainly look in eBay to build It from odd parts, but I have no experience on this matter, so I would need a local luthier to do the job for me and I don't know if this would increase the price a lot.

I totally understand that. Putting a guitar together is not as difficult as you may think, but there’s definitely still a learning curve. It took me a while to be able to do it confidently. If you ever get a chance to try it, it can be really fun!

And like Matic said, the most difficult part would certainly be installing the pickups.

Glad the Vintera II is a good option for you! I’m sure it’ll be a fun project

I've found this somewhere in Facebook.

A bit inaccurate. First 2 guitars are both Fender Custom Shop. White Spirit Strat is indeed a 70's Strat that was re-necked and the other cream strat is a Vintage Reissue that Janick bought used in the 90's IIRC. The White Spirit strat being his first good guitar is correct tho.

Also I think the original Gillan Strat is a 64, not 66.

Does anyone know which acoustic guitars Dave and Janick used for Wasting Love on the Fear of the Dark Tour? I'm 99% sure that Janick used his typical Gibson Chet Atkins, but Dave's acoustic guitar from FOTD tour is a mystery for me.

Yes, definitely Janick's acoustic is the Chet Atkins, Dave's looks like another Gibson but it confuses me, still a mystery for me (I can't read what the headstock says).
