The odds depend on how many FC members have tickets and enter for a given show, plus how many people the barrier at that venue can fit.

The FC maintains that it's an impartial, random drawing.

I've been in the fanclub for 10 years now, and I got FTTB for both of the two shows I attended this year. Had not gotten it any of the three previous times I'd seen them.
 
I have absolutely zero interest in being first to the barrier. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to get to the barrier in Glasgow if I so desired; did so last time. Four or five back & to the left or right is fine by me.
 
The Echo Arena in Liverpool has apparently let the cat out of the bag re the Maiden date on May 20. Someone on FB who is signed up to the venue mailing list says they just got notification about Maiden.

Rock legends IRON MAIDEN continue their hugely successful The Book of Souls World Tour into 2017 with a series of European arena shows opening in Antwerp, Belgium on April 22, Maiden’s first visit to this city since 1981 on the Killers Tour! The band then travel to Germany for shows in Oberhausen, Frankfurt and Hamburg before heading into the UK and Ireland for an extensive series of concerts in May.

Edit: you still don't find this by visiting the main website, though. If it's a hoax it's a very involved one.

This is getting ridiculous. Leaks all over the place. Wouldn't surprise me if that's genuine.
 
Yeah, like I say, if this is only a hoax, someone has way too much time on their hands. Mind you, someone did a convincing dummy page to the newspaper I used to work for, and it caused legal bother. People refused to be convinced that the company didn't own the dummy page.
 
I've been spoiled this last time I saw them. Ever since 2008, I've gotten seats to all of the Maiden shows I've gone to here in the States. But on April 6th in Chicago, my buddy and I went all out and bought pit tickets, along with arriving at the arena three hours early (we were like 70-80th in line) to secure spots right at the front of the barrier and five feet from the stage.

Never again will I be able to go back to anything less than this experience. It was absolutely magical. From here on out I will be doing my damndest to get as close as I can to within ten feet of the stage. Hah

Anyways, not sure I like them mentioning they want to play outdoor in the US.... outdoor venues are horrible compared to indoor, at least in most of my concert experiences. But, St. Louis has the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, so perhaps this is a clue they may have picked my city?
 
Well, it is official now. The offical website and the Iron Maiden FB page have confirmed it. So, where will the 2017 European Maidenfans Meet be? London, Manchester, somewhere else? :D
