The Rock Candy interview - which for me is the best recent insight into Steve's thinking by far- trots out similar lines regarding having 'too many new ideas for one lifetime'.

As always with them, Steve, Bruce and Adrian. So, an important and one of the best interviews.

The question is whether he wants to push himself to develop them into finished ideas with Maiden. There, I agree with you, he doesn't seem to focused on that.

Now, yes, but in 2027 there is hope.

He event specifies how he has backed up his new ideas, semi-ideas, etc.

That's optimistic, right, he won't backed up them if he has no intention to finish them sooner rather than later.?

He said there are no plans for a new album yet (maybe after next year's tour they'll start thinking about it), but I like how he added that this could change. Him being not sure if he'll be asked to play on a couple of songs is kind of odd, considering they said he's still part of the band. Mostly fan club work?

But what would you expect Nicko to say when he is asked this question?
He will and can not confirm that they are planning a new album. He also can not answer that he doesn't know anything. After talking about being still a member of the band that would also be odd.
So saying there are no plans is the only option. It is always possible to claim later the planning started after this interview.

I think we shouldn't take remarks like that too seriously or literally. We have to read between the lines more if we want to find out something.

I'm sure they wil record at least another album, but I hope he won't be involved. If he can no more practise at the higher level, I don't see the point, it would be rude for Simon, and it would alter the record's coherence. I understand the "he is still a member of the band" stuff to preserve his ego, but that shouldn't go too far.

When he clarified "what does that mean?" as to him still being part of the band, he said more or less Fan Club stuff and that he's still part of the Maiden family. I think the possibility of a couple of songs is realistic and a best case scenario for him. With Bruce wanting to record a new album partly because of the band being a bit reinvigorated with Simon, Simon will 100% be drumming on most tracks, if not all, IMO.

The way Bruce and Adrian have talked about Simon and the energy he gives to the band, if they do decide to make a new album why wouldn't they want that to shine in the studio? I don't think Nicko will be part of album 18 at all tbh.

Anything else is pure speculation by a bunch of fans who are so desperate for a new album they will just assume anything that fits their narrative that there must be one coming in the future.

I would bet a years wages we never see another maiden album.

I’m not happy at all. I’d love to have another Maiden album.

I just think that they boys are too interested in touring at the moment and due to their ages it’s very unlikely we will get another album.

A maiden album is a big event. A new Eddie a whole marketing campaign and new merch plus a an album tour. It just seems a lot to do at their age when it seems that they are having a lot of fun just touring the classics. I would imagine after run for your lives they’ll be a part 2 with a set list made up mainly from the reunion era with a few of the classics thrown in. If they do that there won’t be time to do a new album.

I do think we’ll get more releases from Maiden. They’ve already announced they are filming the Paris show next year so I’m hopeful with 2027 as their year off that we get some sort of live boxset like eddies archives pt. 2 with a run for your lives and future past live albums plus some other goodies and maybe even the dream, a blu ray lol.

As for a new album of new material I just think it’s highly unlikely now and I find it strange how so many people people in this thread just twist things around to convince themselves that we will let a new album when more than one band member has said theirs no plans at the moment but some people are like “well I don’t believe them and I think….” Blah blah.

I’d love to be proven wrong but I don’t believe their will be a new album.

Luckily for me I’ve been a fan since 1991 so I’ve been around for a lot of new album launches, seen a lot of gigs and with 17 studio albums under their belts they’ll leave a lot of quality music behind if we don’t get a new album.

Lol, you really think you can ask a question like that in an interview and will get nothing but the whole truth?
There are always other considerations, reasons why certain things should not or cannot be said in interviews.
I could on the fly think of two examples I remembered here from the forum, but I am sure there are hundreds of examples for all bands.

Looks like we are officially approaching ticket (and money) stress season...

Someone should let Steve know. In his last interviews it came across that he knows nothing about plans for 2025. ;-)

HL: Well, you kept quiet about the production of "Senjutsu" and you were not at a loss for excuses when you were asked about a new album.
I remember that my colleague Alexander Stock had you for an interview just a short time ago because of Smith/ Kotzen. He asked you about Iron Maiden and you said that nothing was planned at the moment and that one should not expect a new album for the time being.

AS: I see. Yeah, that's a little quirk of ours. We have been doing this for years. We just want to surprise the fans. I think it's boring when you make a big announcement that you're going into the studio to record a new album....
