#1 Record? Did you do your duty?

Triple vinyl edition arrived today, looks and sounds absolutely beautiful, couldn't be happier.
Good to read this, as are the reports of the vinyl version on the Hoffman forums. Waiting for mine to arrive...

If you pay for a genuine physical copy, I don't see what is the problem in getting the album from torrents, sharing sites as well. After all, with very basic technical knowledge it's very straightforward to convert any CD into audio files.
Yeah. Though most new vinyl LPs I buy (including some re-releases) have either a CD or a download code with them.

And if you have a means to play a vinyl, while not as straightforward, you could easily convert it to digital format as well. So in the case one has purchased a copy, I think it would be fair to download it from sharing tubes to save on that effort.
You can, but it's a pain in the arse to be frank.

Final Frontier first week numbers in some major markets (Germany has a weird chart where they don't post sales figure unless the record company chooses to). Later Monday US forecast the week and UK sales for the weekend will be released. Anyway FF:
US : 63,286
UK : 44,384
Germany : 35,000
Canada : 17,200
France : 13,751
Japan : 13,516
Australia : 7,295

I got the deluxe edition in the mail saturday, and are currently on my first listen of it, at the song The great unknown. Sounds alot better than The final frontier so far! :okok:

I bought 2 copies. The deluxe edition from amazon.uk, but that will take some time to arrive in my country, so saturday I went to my local store and bought the standard edition :)

The courier just arrived along with my Deluxe Edition(and SOTO's Inside The Vertigo but who cares about that?). I''ll just spend some time looking at it. No picture could capture how cool it actually looks! :yey:

Huge weekend in UK Number 1 Iron Maiden - Book Of Souls (45.5k), 30K ahead, should easily do 55K, easily beat Final Frontier. Fantastico. US sales still waiting on those.

Looks like Lady Gaga did her duty as well

LADY GAGA Was Up At 5 A.M. To Buy New IRON MAIDEN Album 'The Book Of Souls'

Pop superstar Lady Gaga has revealed in a new tweet that she was up at 5 a.m. this past weekend because she wanted to make sure she didn't forget to download IRON MAIDEN's new album, "The Book Of Souls". She added: "MUSIC FANDOM IS ALIVE"

Lady Gaga recently told CR Fashion Book magazine that she would rather be called the next IRON MAIDEN than be compared to pop veteran Madonna.

"They're one of the greatest rock bands in history, in my opinion," Gaga said about IRON MAIDEN. "Some people really don't know the importance of metal and the scope of it. Those guys were filling stadiums, and they still are. And it's because of the culture of the music, the poetry that's so powerful, that whenever the fans come together, they unite in the essence of what IRON MAIDEN is all about. I always used to say to people, when they would say, 'Oh, she's the next Madonna.' No, I'm the next IRON MAIDEN."

Gaga graces the cover of the latest issue of CR Fashion Book, which arrived on newsstands on September 3. The publication contains photos of Gaga in two different wedding dresses, including a goth-punk black piece underneath which she is wearing an IRON MAIDEN "The Number Of The Beast" t-shirt.

Lady Gaga previously spoke about her love for IRON MAIDEN and BLACK SABBATH. The singer also appeared in photos with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Alice Cooper and ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante.

Back in May 2011, Gaga said: "I just saw IRON MAIDEN on their 'Frontier' tour and it totally changed my life. It was my first MAIDEN experience and I just realized in that moment in the show that that was the kind of artist I wanted to be. I didn't want people 30 years from now coming to see my show to see if I've still got it. But rather I wanted them to be fully unified, fists in the air, wanna hear every song. IRON MAIDEN's a lifestyle and those fans live and die by MAIDEN."

Only standard edition this time, although the deluxe one looks really cool. For TFF I bought all of the three editions (the standard cd was for a present, but I have to say that I liked it more than the "mission edition").

The mission edition was a joke, utter crap !! :(

I preordered the deluxe CD set but am mostly listening to a 24bit FLAC rip of the vinyl release. It's a bit warmer and got some extra umph than the CD version. Don't know whether there is any difference in production or it's just the nature of vinyl and the recording process for the rip but it does sound better.

Sometimes wish I had a record player. Still have a bunch of never played vinyl picture disks of Maiden and Sabbath in my parents attic.

Iron Maiden’s Book of Souls should match or even exceed sales of the band’s previous studio effort, 2010’s Final Frontier, which opened with 63k. Should chart at Number 4.

Five Finger Death Punch (Prospect Park) 95-105k sales,
Travis Scott (Epic) 75-80k,
Iron Maiden (BMG Recorded Music) 65-70k,

In UK sales increased by 6.4K on Monday now stand at 51.9k, could do 65K (Piece of Mind numbers) and maybe outsell US!
