Steve definitely subsidises the whole British Lion thing, but I doubt that is the case with Smith/Kotzen and Bruce's solo career, which attract many more people to their shows.
Agreed with you about Bruce's high end corporate speaking potential, it is also a crowded space and Bruce may be charging huge prices.
Regarding Smith/Kotzen and Bruce solo, their big cost outlay outside touring is studio time and record marketing. Both Bruce and H have recorded/recording two full length new albums post pandemic which are obvious loss makers in their own right.
I'm also not sure their touring would make a very big profit these days because of the sky high costs of freight, fuel etc again post pandemic, when launching or supporting small/medium size touring is cost prohibitive for plenty of bands these days.

If I am not mistaken, the Smith/Kotzen albums have been recorded at home studios, which reduces costs significantly. Furthermore, I seriously doubt they are losing money with the tour...

Yep, S/K a lot cheaper to run than either British Lion with its massive pub tours, or Dickinson solo with all its trimmings.

But even small profit or break-even outcomes may need to somehow be subsidised for S/K and Bruce solo. I doubt either project generates anything like the merch sales that would create real profit when touring (which is what mid size rock acts rely on, so they say...)

What I do think is Bruce solo has potential to grow over the next 2 or 3 years into small arenas in Europe. If he keeps going solo as Maiden slow down, he will become the closest replacement live experience to Maiden.

Bruce already does arena tours at least in the UK.

I’m pretty sure British lion, Bruce & the band and Smith/Kotzen pay their travels themself, no way these guys sleep and live in a bus anymore?
