Steve definitely subsidises the whole British Lion thing, but I doubt that is the case with Smith/Kotzen and Bruce's solo career, which attract many more people to their shows.
Agreed with you about Bruce's high end corporate speaking potential, it is also a crowded space and Bruce may be charging huge prices.
Regarding Smith/Kotzen and Bruce solo, their big cost outlay outside touring is studio time and record marketing. Both Bruce and H have recorded/recording two full length new albums post pandemic which are obvious loss makers in their own right.
I'm also not sure their touring would make a very big profit these days because of the sky high costs of freight, fuel etc again post pandemic, when launching or supporting small/medium size touring is cost prohibitive for plenty of bands these days.

If I am not mistaken, the Smith/Kotzen albums have been recorded at home studios, which reduces costs significantly. Furthermore, I seriously doubt they are losing money with the tour...

Yep, S/K a lot cheaper to run than either British Lion with its massive pub tours, or Dickinson solo with all its trimmings.

But even small profit or break-even outcomes may need to somehow be subsidised for S/K and Bruce solo. I doubt either project generates anything like the merch sales that would create real profit when touring (which is what mid size rock acts rely on, so they say...)

What I do think is Bruce solo has potential to grow over the next 2 or 3 years into small arenas in Europe. If he keeps going solo as Maiden slow down, he will become the closest replacement live experience to Maiden.

Bruce already does arena tours at least in the UK.

I’m pretty sure British lion, Bruce & the band and Smith/Kotzen pay their travels themself, no way these guys sleep and live in a bus anymore?

I strongly agree with that. Also, if Iron Maiden start touring much less—maybe just a handful of stadium shows—attendance at Bruce’s solo concerts could grow quite a lot. And in that case, I think we might start hearing more Maiden songs in his solo setlists. Over the course of a tour or two, voilà—we’d end up with a new entity playing Iron Maiden songs with the original vocalist. Ha. (Obviously I’m being a bit ironic here, joking a little—but the audience numbers really might grow.)

I doubt if maiden quits he will play maiden songs. Maybe he could play his songs but i dont see that.

I remember an interview with Steve about British Lion where he said that there were downsides to traveling in a bus full of men.
But I don't think Bruce is traveling by bus.

Not really. On his last UK tour he played Swansea Arena so technically you're right, I suppose but that venue is more like a theatre, going by the pics. It has a 2500 capacity. Proper arenas, in my experience and understanding, are at least 3x bigger than that. The places Maiden play in the UK are what I'd consider proper arenas, the O2, Ovo, SSE etc, capacities between 10-20k.

Maybe his songs like he did from 97 in advance. But not rest of the band songs.
I don’t think it would make much sense for Bruce to play Steve’s long epics anyway—they’d take up too much of the set time. But he could definitely include songs like “Running Free,” “Wrathchild,” and “Killers,” along with his own material and songs written with Adrian Smith.

For several days now I’ve had this itch to rewatch one of Bruce Dickinson’s solo shows from the previous tour—maybe the performance at Hellfest or another one. I remember it being very satisfying: a good band, strong performances, and great overall vibe and chemistry.

If Bruce decides to play any Maiden songs it will be "his" songs. Like he did last year with Flash of the Blade and Revelations.

Other candidates would be songs like Children of the Damned, Run to the Hills, The Prisoner, Flight of Icarus, 2 Minutes to Midnight and Powerslave.

The hellfest is not bad show. I felt that bruce voice was a bit weak but a good proshot

I would not be surprised to see "Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter" or even "Wasting Love" reappear before he calls it a day.
