Your Maiden blasphemy

* I think SIT is one of the weaker albums and that heaven can wait is one of the weakest tracks on it

I like the album, but I agree about Heaven Can Wait. If it wasn't for the bridge, that song would be a complete waste of time. Also, Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner is terrible.

I like Loneliness, but I can see why people wouldn't like it. It's better than Deja Vu, HCW and Stranger (which to be honest, whilst technically superb, is a little dull. Still a 7/10 though.)

I'd give it an 8, but you articulate well why I wouldn't rate it higher.

Lonliness is my favourite track of that album! But it took me about 10-15 years to figure that out... I think the main reason I rate SIT a bit lower is that it was the only album I didn't really have access to and listen to while growing up, for some reason.

I like Loneliness too, even if it is a bit meandering. Heaven Can Wai-ai-ait is the one I could happily lose.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner has one of my favorite Maiden moments of all time. The backing riff that plays behind the part of the chorus where Bruce sings the title.

Heaven Can Wait is my second favorite song on SiT, right behind Alexander the Great. In fact it was in my top ten for a while.

"Hooks in You" is my favourite song on No Prayer for the Dying.

I do think that says more about my feelings about that album than that it's a great song though.

I respect people's opinions but I just have to say...

The Longest Day, These Colours Don't Run, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, El Dorado, Mother of Mercy, When the Wild Wind Blows, Isle of Avalon.

To name but a few.

The first statement isn't really an unpopular opinion though. It's just nonsense.

Not sure whether to laugh my arse off at that or feel offended. Oh well i'm sure i'll soon get used to the community.

I think I might give A Matter of Life and Death another visit as it's quite a daring album but I felt that The Final Frontier though not without good hooks, was overly repetitive and said ultimately nothing as a whole.

I actually meant: Maiden didn't release any good songs in 2003... :p

I like Paschendale and Rainmaker.
