War Of Epics

Mosh's list is probably most obscure... I only really know 1 of his songs + I heard 3 more but can't recall anything from them. And the remaining 8 are completely unknown to me.
Without going into too much detail about my list, I don't know if I'd necessarily call it obscure. I did stay away from certain epics that I knew would be chosen by others simply because I'd like to see lots of variety in this game. I look forward to hearing some new potential favorites as well as maybe turning on some people to new tracks!

I thought and did exactly the same thing apart from one track which could have been mentioned by someone else, but I wasn't sure if that would happen so I included it just in case. I think it still deserves attention.

On the other that turned out to be a duplicate: I was less sure if that would be picked: it's certainly less famous.

Reasonably happy with the songs I got. Free Bird got criminally overlooked by you guys, Stygian and Child In Time are both strong, and Ghost Love Score should do well given a good draw.

Also, CH is a dirty thief.

Foro really threw away the advantage he had with being the first to draw.

The unique song that I had that I was surprised at was Rebellion in Dreamland. I at least thought someone else would've picked it.

Had I know I would've been able to get Stygian I probably would've grabbed that but can't be too unhappy with what I got. Because 3 of the 4 songs are so me.

I'm more weirded out that no one picked Dante's Inferno.

But anyway, all the lists are pretty cool. I purposefully didn't say - pick your favorite songs, or the best songs or anything like that. So on first look, people either sent their all-time favorites, the most successful songs in other games, or their favorites that aren't much talked about on the forum (this is most likely the case for Perun, Foro and Mosh). If I had said - there's gonna be a competition, then everyone would've picked Book of Thel, Stargazer etc, and I'd have ended up with about 30 unique songs. Besides, the game is about the songs and the user competition is just a bonus I came up with on the go.

CH is a dirty thief.
Not sure what I did to prompt this, but pleased by the reaction greatly. :devil2:
EDIT: now I see-- "Stargazer"--frankly, I'm a bit surprised it made it to the fifth pick -- AND "Achilles" -- hee-hee

Foro really threw away the advantage he had with being the first to draw.
Like having the #1 fantasy football pick and choosing a backup kicker.

I like my picks, obviously, but I think mckindog may "win" with my not-so-dark-horse pick to win it all, "Xanadu." If I'd thought of it, it would have been on my list, but I simply forgot about it when I threw my list together. Indefensible.

More or less. I decided not to include certain epics because I figured they would be picked by others. This was true for the most part, the only one that nobody else picked was Octavarium. It'd be cool to see some bands gets more exposure around here and I'm looking forward to getting turned on to some new music. Cool to see quite a few epics I haven't heard!

I really thought someone else would select it. I think it "deserves" to join the game. But I also remembered from IE survivals that it wasn't that popular. At the same time, popularity (competition) is not a main issue indeed.

Speaking of Iced Earth. I never considered the following trilogy as one song. These have always been 3 separated tracks on CDs, and were mostly not played as one whole either:

Spot on.

I ended with my first four picks, good to see. I originally picked Starless in the Top 4 but then thought I'd balance Genesis and King Crimson out.

Listed as a trilogy on the back of the CD. If I let Abbey Road medley get into the game, why not this one too? :P If you play The Suffering songs in a row from the CD, they seamlessly segue into each other without any breaks.

My list isn't that strong. I love Weird Al but that song won't last. The other three are good but only Shine On can compete with Stargazer and Thel.

Also remember, NP is running knockout matches. The initial seeding (currently under consideration) is important. It looks like Bat Out Of Hell will most likely draw a tough first round opponent. I have half of a strong list, and the other half will go away quickly.

Yep. If I had known the way the game was going to be, I would have picked four tracks that don't get enough attention as my top four.
There are lot of titles I don't know here and I'm looking forward to hearing some new music.

I think your Pink Floyd song has drawn Free Bird, which will be a tougher match than the seedings make it out to be.

EDIT: Scratch that, I'm against Perun in the first round.

The seeding is not determined yet. NP and I were discussing ideas last night. However, we do know that #1 picks from each person will face a #4 pick from someone else. So Free Bird is indeed likely to draw a tough opponent.

Edit to clarify: if we seed by draft picks, your songs only go up against one other player's songs. You may notice that by draft picks, all of (for instance) RTC's songs go up against a Perun song. We will be seeding this tourney to ensure that your four songs will have four different (forum) opponents.
