Still reading, but that is more or less what I remembered.  Daly's Chicago was a huge factor in Kennedy's election (I didn't know about Texas and the rest).  I haven't found any info on this, but I was under the impression that Kennedy's dad (Joseph?) was pivotal in this whole thing. 

Don't get me wrong, I think Kennedy was a fine president, I was just comparing Nixon to him.

Well, in our state, Springfield may be the capital, but IL is still ruled by Cook County.  ;)

Joe Kennedy worked the Chicago unions to get JFK elected. And what did JFK do once he was elected? He appinted his brother AG to root out organized crime.

No one else was even hurt besides him. So, I mean, sucks that it happened, but short of him being detained non-lethally, that was the best possible outcome.

And yes. It was one person who was an uber enviro-freak who probably needed meds and listened to too much Sea Shepherd. Honestly, what a whackjob.

This is the one I mean.  I don't watch Glenn Beck, or T.V. pundits at all.  What I could gather on Glenn Beck makes me think that he's an opportunist.  The people in the video above could not express anything clearly, except that they don't like Muslims because of 9/11.
 
Actually the first video I posted is very much like that one. The people in the second one are 100X as insane. There was a different video of one of those people on Fox News, and she was even too crazy for Fox News too agree with...
