USA Politics

It is a federal district but it has its own city government and judicial system, so I assume a crime charged by DC itself would not be a federal crime. The powers are derived from congress rather than a state though, so I’m not sure.

By the way this is all going to intensity the push to make DC a state.

If they're charged under the DC Code, that is not a federal crime. If they are charged under the US Code, then it is.

That is sick. There must surely be a lot of people going to prison after this.

Traitors and cop killers. Put Trump and all this scum on trial ASAP. By now it's no longer USA's institutions that are at stake if all these turds avoid doing time... it's the entire basis of all eastern democracy that's threatened. Justice for Officer Sicknick.

An idea we had many pages ago about talking about each president and trying to come up with an objective ranking.
Oh boy. As a foreigner I won't even get into that (both due to lack of knowledge regarding lots of Presidents but also out of respect). But my favorite is Tricky Dick. He reminds me the once president of my soccer club (SL Benfica) Vale e Azevedo. Besides having some facial similarities they're both really honest dudes (but to be fair Azevedo was way more of a con man... some episodes are even comical). :D :D :D

Pelosi spoke to Pentagon to prevent Trump from using nukes, taking military action

There is no legal way to stop Trump from ordering a nuclear strike if he wants to, expert says

^ Also looking forward to it. I may provide some minimal thoughts but will overall just be enjoying the discourse, as I did when you and Perun first started the discussion.

So they considered Pence to be worthy of lynching and a fair few of them would have been stupid enough to attempt it too: and Trump wasn't likely to do anything effectual to stop it. Might this possibly colour Pence's thinking about whether to facilitate Trump's expeditious removal from power?
