Thingfish, all of a sudden I have a bit more time to listen to these tracks. ;)

I'll give this one a spin tonight. I'll be interested to hear your interpretation of the bass intro.

It's excellent as usual.

My favourite has grown to be "Sun and Steel" though.  It's so cheesy, especially the backing vocals in the chorus.

Albie : Good to hear you have more time. I hope you get a chance to listen to them all again! I do need an acoustic bass to absolutely faithfully recreate the intro here, but it works ok on the guitar :)

Erm, the little hidden riff/melody from "To Tame a Land" I think - at the end of each verse in the first part of the song. Am I right?

Hehe, I can see why you would think that, as it sounds quite like the bit that goes with the words 'The time will come for him to lay claim his crown...', but this time it's purely accidental that it sounds that way. The part here is actually in the original 'Innocent Exile', just lower down in the mix.

Upon listening to the original again, I must admit there is a little similarity - I just think your playing has simply accentuated it.

Yep. I liked it a lot so I brought it to the fore by putting it on the lead guitars rather than the background ones.

Back from a week-long hiatus with an all-time classic. I know I said I'd mostly be doing ones the band have either never or rarely played first, but this one was by special request from our esteemed moderator, Maverick. Thought it might cheer him up after his disappointment with the new album artwork, so...
