The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

Actually, I'm now starting to wish they'd announce all the European dates at once. If Download comes up as the only UK date then I'd consider going somewhere else a short flight away, but the presales are coming up only a couple of days after announcements. Download are announcing a headliner at 7pm tonight, but who knows if it'll be Maiden.

Exactly. Bit of a pisser if you wait for UK dates, don't fancy Download, are willing to travel --& then find out the European date you'd travel to is sold out.

Having said this, if the Download announcement is tonight then you'll soon find out. I don't think there's much chance of any other UK dates in the summer of 2016, Brigs.

PLUS:
Actually, it's interesting how many dates have been announced so far. Already 41 dates have been announced (with those two German dates still to be given) --& that's without most of the European dates. There's also the Japan & China gigs, which have been mentioned, but not confirmed; they should fall in the last week of April, between the last US date & flying to NZ. I wonder if Japan might also get more than one gig? So once all the European dates start coming through, we could be looking at 50+ dates this year alone; over five solid months without break. It seems like a while since Maiden have done this...

From the press release they are saying, that they coming for the first time to El Salvador and China....

So that means, in Europe they are not going to "new" territories?

I think there's going to be a lot of dates overall. The original press release (see P1) says shows plural in China, but only says a return to Japan, so that could be as few as three shows for those two countries, although it would leave bigger gaps in the calendar. But for Europe they say 'very extensive' tour, which implies as many countries as possible. I don't know offhand what countries in Europe they've never visited before.

I assume August is the end of the tour, at least for this year. One of the recent interviews said they'd rather tour like this for several months a year than go out constantly for a couple of years then take a couple of years off. It was one of the Nicko interviews, I believe.

On the AMoLaD tour they played four Japan dates; so it's not inconceivable that that gap may be filled with more than just three gigs.

Compared to what I wonder? On TFF tour they, for example, played six Germany dates in just over a week; & 10 UK cities (11 dates). That's extensive! :p

Aye, can't recall who said it either; thought it was Adrian. It's looking a little longer than that here though.
