THE FUTURE PAST TOUR - The Setlist Contest! WINNERS: blackie2380, MrKnickerbocker & Collin

Attention! Spoiler alert! Recorded in Split!
This sounds like 1986/1987. There are only 2 guitars, sound of Steve's bass is like the 80s, those are GK amps and I doubt Nick can play at this tempo currenty.

If this is true, Bruce is in horrible form. Borderline Paul Stanley. And there were no signs on orchestral tour. But this sounds like young Bruce.

I think this is fake.

Nicko can 100% do it at the proper tempo at the start of the set, and by the end of last tour they played aces high up to speed again, so I think they were just in 'bad shape' after the lockdown. He will probably simplify the bass drum pattern though.

I listened for a few seconds and I immediately recognized it as Sheffield night two which was a downright ludicrously bad performance from Bruce. Apparently he got ill which really sucks since the first night was solid and probably one of the better bootlegs from the tour, other than the pitch and speed being off.

e: Huh, there's a video of it and it sounds worse but I think the pitch is correct unlike the audio-only version. Annoying!

The setlist discussion in general has spread over this SETLIST CONTEST and the "main" tour thread, but I'm glad a big bunch of you has sumbitted your setlists guesses..! :)

SETLIST CONTEST INFO
(also added to the first post)
I suggest that deadline for the "official" (not that this is anything too serious to begin with) entries will be Friday 26.5.
If you're planning to post your entry, please check out the rules from the first post. Try to make it as pleasant and easily readable as possible. Keep it clean, avoid unnecessary abbreviations and whatever so it's easy for people to go through the thread and see how correct/wrong our collective setlist hunch was, in the end. :)

Oh, and I might just as well try myself. Placed Wasted Years pretty early on this time, as I might return it's old "Bruce gives a speech before it" position, where as most of the new songs have intros that build up their narrative and therefore I don't expect Bruce to give them much of an introduction. Maybe traditional band introduction before The Writing on the Wall.. :)

1. Caught Somewhere in Time
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. Days of Future Past
4. Stranger in a Strange Land
5. The Parchment
6. Wasted Years
7. The Time Machine
8. Alexander the Great
9. Heaven Can Wait
10. Hell on Earth
11. The Number of the Beast
12. Fear of the Dark
13. Iron Maiden

Encore:
14. The Prisoner
15. The Writing on the Wall
16. Phantom of the Opera

To be perfectly honest, I don't expect this to be anywhere near the actual set... A big bulk of the Legacy set was easy to guess, e.g The Clansman and Icarus returning and most of the usual classics, but this one... It could very well be that popular guess of 5+5 regarding Somewhere in Time & Senjutsu with five most generic and obvious classic picks you can imagine, or we might just as well see the band dusting off a handful of tracks they (well, Bruce, Nicko) have mentioend over the past few years, e.g The Prisoner. I think Phantom of the Opera would work very well as a show closer.

"BACK AT YOUR LAIR!

Thank you and good night, we'll see you again!"

Did'nt one of the members mention He wants to play Prodigal Son? I think I remember one user wrote this in the tour thread...
Maybe they did'nt manage to play Alexander and now want to give the fans other songs never (Only the good die young) or only one time (Prodigal Son) played before, which they want to play. Though it would remain how they fit in the setlist...
Maiden sometimes had weird choices, like afraid to shoot strangers on Maiden England.
Alexander the great will be played for sure.
