The Future Past Tour 2024

I don't like Depeche Mode (just one song which is "Enjoy The Silence", that's all). So, I don't find this "crossover" thing interesting. This added to the fact that Tobias' voice is one of the worst in rock/metal genre. I can't stand it at all. It's nasal and is wet noodle, like his music.
I think the dude's voice kinda worked when the music was more Blue Öyster Cult/Sisters of Mercy influenced on the first albums. Kinda like priest singing in mass. But it does not work with their current 80s throwback style. Not nearly enough power or any kind of dynamics or variation. Also musically they just copy and paste parts from Ozzy, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Van Halen, which is fine, but I rather listen to the originals.

It seems we could get some pro-shot video/s from Power Trip - click here. They teased Hell On Earth?

That's a special song and I'd rather wait for it to be officially released by Maiden. Pretty good performance.

Btw, the pyro for the song is great, but the pyro for the big Eddie never gets old:

I’m only just joining in, I’ll be at the current first show in Perth. And I have to say, as excited as I’d be to see Icarus for Madness, if I saw Parchment i stead of Celts, I’d be going for a bathroom AND drink break. Setlist as is is exactly what I want.

The Parchement is the most boring song Maiden have ever done

Parchment is what you get if you throw a bunch of reunion era Maiden songs into AI and tell it to churn out a new one.

The Nomad crossed with Book of Souls (which was a rewrite of Powerslave to begin with) with Jan’s cliche playing following the vocal melody just like BNW. A minute of the same riff over and over and over at the four minute mark …. We’ve heard it all before. Not sure why this gets picked out as a standout from the last album. Hell On Earth, sure.

I wouldn't go that far with my assessment. I certainly like The Parchment more than Celts and it is a great song in my opinion. At the same time I'll die on the hill that TP is a horrible live song and would completely bomb. Barely any sing-along sections, too many lyrics, not enough singable guitar melodies. The song keeps the same tempo for faaaar too long. The speed up towards the end should've happened minutes earlier. As it is it's plodding and monotone.

Having said that, I'm also of the opinion that as many studio tracks as possible should at some point be played live, so given that I saw them this year and won't see them next, to hell with it: Play The Parchment. :D

I love the song. The repititon doesn't feel repetitive for me. Not sure how else to explain it. It just resonates with me.
