Production costs have gone up but I don't think anywhere near as much as ticket prices. What may happen with big arena and stadium tours in the future? Will tickets eventually become unaffordable for the majority of folks or will people continue to find some way to purchase tickets? Will Ticketmaster have to start setting up folks on payments? Credit checks to buy tickets? Lol. Bands may have to drastically scale down their production in order to make cut touring costs. Eventually the golden goose dies, right?
Bruce Springsteen standing tickets were like €165 before fees for his Dublin show next year. They are that price because last year they were about €130 and they all sold out.
It's the job of the promotor to make as much money as possible and it seems, especially since COVID ended, the public's hunger for live concert tours is insatiable.
We're also seeing the migration of the US pricing structure into Europe (platinum packages, dynamic ticket pricing, further monopolisation by Ticketmaster/live nation sub-entities) and it seems to have been largely successful as tours just keep selling well despite the price increases.
