The Future Past tour 2023

Both would be horrible choices. Not a big fan of DOTC but I still believe the setlist shouldn't change.
FOTD for Hallowed would make this song perfect IMO. Just because I'm tired of that song and wouldn't mind a bit of a break for it. Parchement? Just so more Senjutsu songs make it on stage. I'm not particulary crazy about either it or DOTC.

Otherwise, this set is perfect. While we always moan about setlist choices. This one is almost perfect. I still can't believe what happened.

It's great that they didn't do anything to pander to the crowd. So many casuals bitching about "not enough classics". Fuck off! This tour is for the hardcore Iron Maiden fans, for the people who wanted them to play ATG for 30 years (and those of us who never believed they'd do it). It's for the people who buy every album and listen to the deep cuts. It's for the people who vote in silly survivor games on the internet. And it's still doing gangbusters, because there's lots of serious Iron Maiden fans out there.

I totally get that. I love this set and tour. It is for the hardcore like us. However, there's nothing wrong with adjusting for a particular audience for a special show as large and unique for them as Powertrip. They could have easily fit in Run to the Hills somewhere if they wanted. America knows that song best. Metallica is not going to play 5 songs off St. Anger or Reload for the casuals for example (not that I'm comparing those albums to the classic SiT of course)

That wouldn't be Steve Harris, would it?

Having watched a few videos of their Power Trip performance, I've got to admire how brilliantly they pulled it off. They seem very relaxed and having great time, playing this very unique Iron Maiden set for the last time this year. The crowd might be one of the most unenthusiastic they've played to for some time, but so what, they're just having a blast and Bruce appears to be even slightly amused of the ridiculous contrast between the scale and crowd energy of the festival. :D But hey I hope everyone there enjoyed the show.

But yeah, they're in great form! What a year for Maiden, and what a year we have ahead...

and what a year we have ahead...
So what is expected to be ahead next year? Sorry for asking, but I havent't been very active in here for the past few months. All I know about is a new Bruce solo album and tour. What Maiden plans have been discussed recently? Thanks for updating me on this one. :-)

fear of the dark is maybe their most played song in streaming platforms. it will be really surprising if they took it off.
Fear of the Dark and The Trooper are Maiden’s de-facto 2 greatest hits. The metric for deciding this is live crowd reaction and participation. The people want to hear these songs and sing along with them. They’re an essential part of the Iron Maiden concert experience.

I wouldn’t cry if they were replaced, but Maiden has to please a wide spectrum of fans at every show.

I was mostly referring to Bruce's solo project, and of course Maiden touring as well and we might get some exciting news towards the end of the year about what's next, unless the Future Past goes for a third year.

At this point nothing is confirmed when it comes to Maiden tour dates, but South & North American tour seems very plausible at least.

Some don't rule out more European dates and/or even Australia and Japan, but we'll see about that....

So, in a nutshell, we'll have a new Bruce Dickinson album and a tour and also Maiden touring somewhere and possibly some news about the future, so I think it's going to be another amazing Maiden year. :)
