The Future Past tour 2023

I guess the album will be recorded early next year or in the winter after the tour (for a 2025 release) like they usually do. Nicko must be in his top form. Bruce can do his Spoken tour (if he wants to continue it) either early next year or early 2025. I wonder what will happen with his solo tour (and album).
I'm quite sure the album has already been recorded between late 2021 and early 2022, before the last leg of LOTB tour. ;) That's why Bruce has said that people will be happy. :) The band members had plenty of time to compose songs and record demos during the pandemic and it would have been surprising if a studio would have not been booked before the 3rd leg of LOTB tour... So, my bet is that they have a new album ready to be released, just after the next NA dates, maybe in january or february. ;) They will change the 5 Senjutsu songs by new 5 tracks and maybe The Prisoner by Lost In A Lost World (or The Parchment) on the setlist for 2024. :ninja:

Evidence? Bruce said that they booked studio time and then decided it was too soon and canceled it.

I could definitely see them recording a new record between now and the next leg of the Future Past Tour for a release after the tour concludes. But Bruce’s comment could mean a million different things so I’m not gonna read into it too much.

There's no way an album is recorded. Maiden nerds would have discovered it much like they always do.

People are reading too much into what Bruce said, they always have future plans, I don't think they've ever took time off since the reunion bar for cancer and the pandemic, so something was obviously going to be coming next in the immediate future. Logically, more tour dates most likely, especially in the context of a video announcing the end of what was explicitly called the first part of the tour in that same video. Again, in the context of that video, a forthcoming live album would also be something that would make sense to hint at.

Anything more momentous than those two options have a very slim likelihood.

Ok serious thoughts about Maidens future. This is a mixture of my predictions but a slight hopeful bit of wishful thinking.

1. New live album and video footage, released this year in autumn around October. I always thought that they would release a video of this tour but expected a streaming only video. Think it’s more likely we may get a blu ray release too. I know the band thinks they don’t sell but they still did one for the writing on the wall in the deluxe box set so there is a solid chance.

2. New album announcement early next year with a release after the future past tour finishes around oct 2024.

Think this will be the last album, especially based on Nickos health/age and the rest of the bands advancing years.

3. Announce a major tour starting in 2025 billed as the 50th anniversary tour. This will to all intents and purposes be their farewell tour however they will never say that or label it as such.

I see this tour running for 3 years, health permitting, and if all are still good shape at the end they’ll announce extensions to the tour with slight alterations to the set list. Basically at this point they just tour until they can’t or don’t want to anymore and just fade away with the option to play odd gigs and festival headline slots in the future.

I feel like people forget how Maiden writes music nowadays. Adrian might have some developed demos and the rest has some ideas but they don't go with fully formed and previously written songs into the studio anymore. They book the studio, spend a couple of weeks there, Steve locks himself into a room and connects as many of his ideas into a 10+ minute song, while Bruce will sit with Adrian to work out a couple of songs. Afterwards Steve will work with each of the amigos. This is basically their process nowadays.

Bruce comments always could mean a million different things... Bruce is also someone who likes to make jokes or kid people... So, the fact that he said in interview that the band has booked a studio after Senjutsu before cancelling it quickly after could also mean that the band has really booked a studio in 2021 to record a new album, but Bruce didn't have the permission to do such revelation but as he is a sympathetic guy who appreciate to spread doubt and clues here and there, it's strongly possible that the album is really recorded. IMHO, band's original plan was to release it somewhere in between september 2024 and june 2025, but with Nicko's stroke in january and Blaze's health issues in april (the 50th anniversary could see Paul, Blaze and Bruce on the same stage), the plan has been upset and the guys have finally decided to release it after Power Trip and before the next leg of Future Past tour.

It seems obvious it's a new album. It also seems obvious that they must take the Future Past tour to other parts of the world in 2024 and must play the Somewhere in Time songs to more people. So the only thing that makes sense is that the tour will continue, but the "future" songs will be from the new album, not Senjutsu. I am confident in this prediction (but ready to eat crow, if necessary).

Nothing else makes sense to me.
Honestly I can't see them releasing a new album before the tour starts next year that's extremely unlikely.
100% certain the set for next year will have 5 SIT + 5 Senjutsu it won't change.
This talk about 5 new songs in the 2024 set is absurd really. Not happening.
YOU WILL BE EATING TASTY CROW

Yep. there is no way they have written a full albums worth of songs, or even secretly recorded one.
The chance of a new album before the 2024 tour is ZERO.
The chance of 5 new songs in Next years set is ZERO.
If we are talking new album possibilities recording one after powertrip or early next year is likely with a release AFTER the future past tour (Sept or Oct 2024)

You all seem so sure for people who are not in the Maiden camp. You truly can’t be 100% certain there isn’t an album already recorded.

Stranger things have happened. You just wait and see how wrong you are.
