The fanclub shop sells all the tour merch at (almost) the same price.I 100% would have bought a soundboard recording from every Maiden gig I'd been to if it had been an option.

Much lower price, but with shipping I guess it's around the same. The fanclub shop sells all the tour merch at (almost) the same price.
I really like how they upload live videos of multiple songs from different cities in YouTube from their recent tours. It's great.Sometimes I envy Metallica Fans being able to purchase a soundboard recording of the gig they've been to.
I wish Maiden would do that
Maiden streamed Wacken in 2016, but we still got Live Chapter in 2017.Hopefully no Wacken stream means they're saving any filmed show for an official release.
I confirm that hearing loss can also concern all areas of a concert hall, not only front rows...I enjoyed the video with Pooch but i got to say if you are in the front few rows(possibly more) of any gig you are at risk of hearing damage if your not wearing hearing protection.
So it's what I wrote, isn't it ?Much lower price, but with shipping I guess it's around the same.
The merch itself is cheaper.So it's what I wrote, isn't it ?
I was in the nosebleeds at Helsinki '18. Started out with earplugs, gave up on them pretty quickly because singing along was painful to listen to, enjoyed a wonderful cacophony of noises while falling asleep in the hotel later that night. I dunno about hearing damage since seeing Blade Runner 2049 in 2017 already left my ears ringing for the night, but it probably didn't help in my eventual development of tinnitus sometime in 2020.I enjoyed the video with Pooch but i got to say if you are in the front few rows(possibly more) of any gig you are at risk of hearing damage if your not wearing hearing protection.
death on the road - complete show from 1 city12,000 capacity isn't small. And besides, the tour video will likely be a compilation of the best performances across various shows like Flight 666.
Surely it's one of the smaller gigs on the tour? It certainly seemed small when I was there (not quite as intimate as Aberdeen for LOTB, only 8000!)12,000 capacity isn't small. And besides, the tour video will likely be a compilation of the best performances across various shows like Flight 666.
This is true. Concerts used to be forced to be incredibly loud, so that everyone in the venue could hear the band, but thanks to modern sound systems and microphones this isn't a necessity anymore. If the concerts weren't that loud nobody would have to wear ear plugs. Just lower the volume by 10 decibles and everybody would be fine.
I love how Adrian ends his CSIT solo here. Sanctuary from 1985 vibe.
Leeds arena is the smallest venue on the UK tour.Surely it's one of the smaller gigs on the tour? It certainly seemed small when I was there
Yeah, the old AECC was basically a disused aircraft hangar. I saw Maiden there twice. Thankfully they've built a new arena up there which is more fit for purpose.(not quite as intimate as Aberdeen for LOTB, only 8000!)
The 02 is essentially an indoor stadium but I personally dislike venues that big. Being miles away from the band isn't much fun. Although at least it's better than the shithole that was Earls Court. When I look at footage from some other gigs the O2 in London seems HUGE in comparison.
It was fun the first time he did it but the joke wore off quickly.I would absolutely love for it to be a compilation album with a song from Glasgow. No chance of a full gig though as you wouldn't be able to get rid of all Bruce's nonsense shouting out the letters for the seating sections
I’ve been wearing earplugs since I was a 16 year old. I was playing lots of pub gigs back the. With my band and I hated coming home not being able to hear, sweaty and drinking of smoke. Then the smoking ban came in and I just went home stinking of sweat! This is true. Concerts used to be forced to be incredibly loud, so that everyone in the venue could hear the band, but thanks to modern sound systems and microphones this isn't a necessity anymore.
Every single live show would sound better if it were just a bit quieter, in my opinion.
Edit:
Obviously not feasible for a band of Maiden's size, but the Jazz band Snarky Puppy has done something interesting: Everyone in the audience put on headphones and listened to the band that way. Since it's not music where you're supposed to jump around, sing along, or mosh, that seems like an ideal way to experience their music.
The bolded is the part I kind of disagree with, on the basis of most people simply not knowing that hearing damage is cumulative. It's usually not like breaking a bone (for example) where in most cases one unfortunate incident will fuck you up. Each time you are exposed to dangerously loud noises, you chip away at your hearing and after a while this adds up.Protecting your hearing definitely makes sense since once it's gone, you wish it wasn't and you'd do anything to get it back. Same with tinnitus, even if you learn to tune it out quickly ideally you'd not have it all. But at the same time I feel like people should be allowed to make that choice themselves. Preaching about it a little is fine especially to the youngsters who think they're invincible, but some people are simply destined to fuck their hearing up and no amount of dissuasion will make them change their mind.
