The Future Past tour 2023

From what I heard they really really REALLY managed to recreate the 1986/86 Gallien Kruger guitar sound extremely proper. H is very middy on ATG and CSIT with that smooth Chorus effect. Which belongs to the very big surprises on this tour obviously. It wouldn't sound half as good with the crunchy Rock&Roll-kinda tone they had for years.
The harmony in CSiT sounds downright dreamy. I dunno if it's just the venue and phone recording, but even Janick's tone fits right in and that's fucking crazy if you ask me.

Wow, what a setlist! Caught Somewhere in Time has been one of my favorite songs of theirs since I became a fan in 2006-07, and their touring/setlist track record always had me thinking I would NEVER get a chance to hear it live. Plus Alexander the Great, finally... I think we have all of the people who submitted the question to Bruce on his "Evening with Bruce" dates to thank for it finally being added to the setlist. :dancinggeek: haha

What a fucking spectacular setlist!

Cheers, and here's to anyone able to catch them this summer. I can't wait until they do some US dates for this tour, probably next year?

I'm not a big fan of Death Of The Celts, or of Somewhere In Time as an album, but this might be one of the greatest and most exciting Maiden setlists ever. I fucking love that the only song from TNOTB is The Prisoner of all things. It's one of the least predictable setlists and only having FOTD, The Trooper, and Iron Maiden as staples sounds like a fever dream. Soooo, so happy with all of this.

Just came back to the hotel from the show. Wow just wow! In my opinion they out matched LOTB tour. I'm out of words for this show. They had huge technical problems all night, if I got it right they had problems hearing each other all night. Adrian left stage fumunig. He lost other guys even on WY, before solo. But when Bruce is in a mood like he was today nothing can destroy show. Man is so special, my hat down for him tonight. Best front man by far. The show is spectacle, best thing by far from them visualy. People if you have any chance to go and see this show, go. This is another level from IM live.

Also, obvious fuck ups aside: I genuinely think that this might be one of the best sung versions of CSiT ever, which is nothing sort of, I dunno, mind-cuntdamn-boggling if you want a superlative. How does he do it? Sure, there's the familiar strain on the high notes that's been there for a while, but overall it's just way more consistent and on key than the song's ever been.

No, it's just fucking tedious to see that whatever Maiden do, people bitch. It spoils the fun for people who are there first and foremost to enjoy the ride. They play new stuff? People scream "play classics!" They play classics? People scream "cabaret!" They even out between new stuff and classics? It's the wrong new songs and the wrong classics. You might think this is funny, but damn, you wouldn't believe how quickly it gets old.
Hey... everyone's a critic. And there's nothing wrong with it. But I also concur that a fair share of people would only be satisfied if they'd write the setlist themselves for every single Maiden gig. And even then they would find something to complain :p .

He sung it better than on the '86 tour that's for sure.

Oh yeah and one more thing: an almost 71-year-old man is playing the drums live on Caught Somewhere in Time, one of the most demanding single foot bass drum songs in metal, certainly the most demanding in the Maiden catalogue. They open the show with it. I don't even wanna say anything. Nicko's outdone himself to the point that he cannot ever be dethroned. He's the best goddamn metal drummer there ever will be, by ability, technical finesse and longevity alone. I don't care how many machine-like double foot players the world creates. Nicko's the best and he always will be. Fuck you.
