The Future Past tour 2023

I have to assume Killers has been on the shortlist for a few tours since 1999. It would've been an obvious choice for Eddie Rips Up the World, the Maiden England tour songs were primarily selected based on the video so Killers had to have been a consideration there, and it would've been a decent choice for LOTB as well. The band seems to enjoy playing it and it seems easy enough to put together, so I imagine there's just always been better choices for the given tour. Would love to see it make a return before they retire.

I don’t really care for “Killers” one way or another TBH. Would be cool to dredge it up again, but honestly if they were to play another Killers track besides “Wrathchild” I’d much rather it be “Murders in the Rue Morgue”. Better song and better live track.

I still think there was a missed opportunity on the original Legacy shows by not having the encore 'world' be the Undercity and just do 80/81 stuff. Sure, that probably would've meant the usual Running Free or Sanctuary closer, but think of what other two songs they could have done. (Don't say Wrathchild.)

By the way, as it was talked about the song Killers earlier here..
Why was it not picked for the setlist for Eddie Rips Up World Tour? And it was last played in 1999 and I think it worked quite nicely then.
Good question. It would make sense in many setlists, (Death on the Road, AMOLAD, Maiden England), and it’s a great song!

Reading all these comments, I see there is a chance Time Machine getting played. Which means The Parchment might be out. Fu**....
I'd trade Parchment for both Alex and Caught Somewhere in Time.
Also, with second encore on last tour, I'd say there a chance they do something similar this tour, I wouldn't stick to the classical 12 songs in the main set (FOTD and IM being last one) + 3 in the encore. They might shake things up a bit.

I’m stilling willing to bet that the 5 Senjutsu songs will be Writing, Days, Time, Parchment and Hell.

I would like to see it shaken up but I think they only reason we got the 2nd encore was cause of the plane. I'm expecting 12 + 3. I hope it's a good encore though and not just Sanctuary and Running Free. Evil That Men Do as very last song would be good and I also think Writing on the Wall would work well in the encore and avoid front loading the set with all the Senjutsu material.

Adrian coming out with the acoustic in the encore would be great. Similar to Dave in 2008.

I think BOS was more clear cut working on them playing perhaps 5-6 songs.
Eternity, Speed, BOS, Red, and even Death Or Glory were pretty certain to be played. Wasnt any surprise when those were infact included.
I guess Tears Of A Clown was the 'wildcard'
I agree. But not only for TBOS album, I don't think it was that difficult to guess for the other Reunion albums either. Tears Of A Clown was a surprise in a way, but not something unexpected. The Great Unknown was a bit more surprising - although they mentioned those two songs in the pre-tour interviews. Shadows Of The Valley sounded like a possible choice. With SJ, it's only a bit more difficult to guess.

Stratego in the encore is definitely not realistic
I agree.
I think we would have Senjutsu, Stratego, WOTW, Time Machine, DOFP and Hell on Earth played in an usual album tour. Now I can see them including another epic instead of Senjutsu and Stratego, most likely The Parchment.
This.
I really don't think Celts of Darkest Hour are being considered
I can actually see them considering it because of how different the song is, Bruce could be as theatrical as he wants with the inro / outro and it has live epic written all over it with the instrumental still.
But im sticking with it Being Parchment based on Nicko calling it the song off the album he wants to do the most
Nicko also likes Darkest Hour. I think it has its chances, but they have to drop Time Machine for it. Celts has a good chance too. Bruce's theatrical approach for Lost In A Lost World is needed. Parchment is almost certain because Bruce will need some break.
Great Unknown getting added on the second year of the tour was a surprise inclusion considering (besides the Brave New World Tour perhaps?) the band's usually started with new material then started cutting/replacing various new songs as the tour progressed.
They changed new songs between legs of a tour for: BNW, TBOS and dropped some for AMOLAD. For DOD and TFF (I count only the 2011 leg), nope.
The 2016 pacing of New Song -> New Song -> Old Rarity -> New Song -> New Song was a bold choice to start the show.
Yep. Starting with 3 new songs too.

I liked the encore of LOTB tour and they had to fit the rest of the hits. I like the idea though. They almost did it for the 2022 leg, but without the stage decor. 4 ''worlds'' were totally possible.
Daniel is back with a view of Ljubljana.

I don't expect hints from this account, the tour starts next week.

They can easily play both Time Machine and Parchment. I would not trade Parchment. No chance for a 2nd encore imo, Spitfire was responsible for that last year.

Me too.

I think the encore could be very interesting with songs like Hell On Earth and Alexander. Writing On The Wall will work great there. I doubt they will play Runing Free or Sanctuary and I can't see The Evil That Men Do as the last song.

Ghost just released Phantom of the Opera cover... This may influence little bit (if only by 1%) upcoming setlist.....
My prediction is, Maiden will not play on the upcoming tour: The Number of the Beast, Hallowed be thy Name, Run to the Hills.

Chances of them not playing a single song from TNOTB album are thinner than them performing "Phantom" because some pop-star made a cover of their song.
Imagine they play all three...plus Hell On Earth.
Would be worth a ticket price alone.
Honestly, if that happened, I'd walk out of the arena right after the forth of those is played.
They'd have nothing more to offer to me.
And I'd never attend Maiden gig again.
Like George Consanza, I'd go out on a high note.
