The Future Past tour 2023

The band is probably not there yet and will arrive over the weekend. The crew usually arrives a few days earlier to set up. I guess we shall see next week.
The guy who was heavily involved in Split last year told me one month before that they are coming last year, and media leaked the infomation about venue Maiden rented weeks before.

So I belive Croatia is not a option for this year since there are no any leaked information.

Or it is, but they made sure people keep it hush this time.

Another possibility is that they are rehearsing in Zagreb or even in Ljubljana.

In the far future, scholars will debate whether “iron” meant brewery (mainstream view) or it was some kind of metal (a few heretics). If only we could tell them the truth :D

So, I saw there are a lot of new posts in tour thread, and came here what do I see: several pages about beer.
Apple doesn't fall far away from the tree, does it?

Anywho, I'm bringing the old "can-they-pull-it-off" discussion.
I'm not a drummer, so maybe somebody here can help me (@Lego maybe?) but the what makes "Caught Somewhere in Time" complicated is bass drum rhythm, right? I mean, those triplets or gallop on bass drum makes it tough to pull, yeah, so is it possible to simplify the bass drum, like it was done in "Stratego" live? I mean, instead of three kick do a one on bass drum, the rest of the band can still play at the same speed. Will it be more noticeable than slowing the song altogether?

Also, I don't see what's hard for Bruce there, I mean the chorus isn't that high, and verses aren't meat salad. On songs that gave him air to breath he's quite OK (at least he was on this orchestra tour). Of course it doesn't (or it won't) sound the same as on album, but come, which song does nowdays? Imagine, for some reason, they didn't play "The Number of the Beast", "Hallowed Be Thy Name" or "Run to the Hills" since it came out. With time, Bruce "adjusted" them to his voice, and of course, they don't sound as they do on album, but I can't see people complaining "Oh, he can't pull that scream on RTTH" or something.

With all this said, I must confess I wouldn't mind "Senjutsu" as an opener.
I think it worked on last tour.

Many of us have been posting more serious thoughts on the tour for awhile. Waiting for it to actually start now so just being a bit silly to pass the time.

I think they will "pull off" this tour just fine. Only a few will be upset if it doesn't sound exactly like it did some 40 years ago.

I'm certain that Nicko will simplify the pattern to some degree and I'd prefer that than slowing down the song considerably.

About the vocals: The chorus is quite high (same range as the verses to The Trooper or HBTN), but for whatever reason it's always been much more challenging for Bruce to sing than the aforementioned songs. There's basically not a single bootleg from the original tour where Bruce didn't struggle with this song one way or another. Of course he was sick during a lot of the shows, but there are plenty where he did a decent job with other songs in that range, but still had troubles with CSIT.

It seems the pattern is to have a few rough shows, smooth out a bit, Bruce gets sick then they end the tour on a high note. (Maybe not literally tho- maybe they end on a high shriek?)

I am very much looking forward to it either way!!
