I wasn't around for the 80s, but I do think their current period is the biggest they've ever been in North America. The tours are doing great (even the album tours!) and the studio albums as of late are usually in contention for a top-three chart debut.One more thing - I am kind of proud Maiden have been asked to do this. Obviously the promoters tried to get the biggest, most legendary acts in hard rock/metal that are still active to do this festival. And they chose Maiden. That's how I see it anyway...
Compare that to where the band was about 20 years ago, it's incredible.
