It’s already happened! I have been told that I look like Geddy Lee…

Nothing wrong with that. Better Geddy Lee than Di’Anno!

Joking aside, Moving Pictures were superb. 2 hours and 30 minutes of Rush awesomeness, covering many eras. Among other songs, they played the R30 overture, parts of 2112, Xanadu, Closer to the Heart, the Hemispheres prelude, The Trees, La Villa Strangiato, Freewill, Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight, Subdivisions, Between the Wheels, Marathon, Roll the Bones, Far Cry…

They were supported by Leoni Jane Campbell, a female solo artist who played some solo compositions and some acoustic Rush covers. Great stuff.

Nice to read you enjoyed the show mate!

Now there's a deep cut I would have liked to hear...

THE SPIRIT OF RADIO
THE SPHERE

Drove my son 4 hours North yesterday for us to see Heathen, Exhorder, & Overkill last night in Dallas! Enjoyed each band but each one more than the previous.
Can tell my boy was really impressed with Overkill. Blitz still sounds great after all the years!
This was my 11th Overkill show but 1st time for other 2 bands.

Saw Clutch for the 11th time last night - they were magnificent as always and played a pretty great setlist (last time in Chicago was far too many old songs and deep cuts for my liking).

I only need one more Clutch show in my future to make them my most seen live band. It’s an easy feat when they tour the area like twice a year.

Moving Pictures are playing a FREE show here in Houston on Sunday 8-13 downtown at Rise Rooftop! Got my tix! Talking my son into going with me

Saw Moving Pictures (Rush tribute band) this afternoon (different from the one mentioned earlier in this thread). My son and friends all had to work so went alone. Glad I did!
Their video screen and performance was great!
Though I think Rush Tribute Project is more professional (their guitarist AND bassist both use double necks during Xanadu plus MP guitarist dressed like he just woke up).

Set was a history of 1st 10 years (74-84) in backwards order (except the encore).
I filmed some of it and have posted the highlights below.

Opener was a Police tribute called Ghost in the Machine. They were good but during their set the A/C wasn't working (was over 100 degrees outside and even though was indoors, show was on a roof top so was brutal!).
Luckily A/C was fixed by time MP took stage.

Distant Early Warning
Subdivisions
Limelight
YYZ
Red Barchetta
Tom Sawyer
Spirit of Radio
Freewill
La Villa Strangiato
Trees
Xanadu
2112 Overture
Temples
Grand Finale
Working Man

Encore:
Far Cry

ABBA Voyage - 13th August

So this ruled, might be my best concert experience outside of Maiden. Amazing venue, stunning light and visual show, a near-perfect setlist. ABBA's music is genuinely incredible and deserves to be heard at full volume, there I said it

I wasn't massively keen on the two new songs, they were good but not particularly memorable, though I get that the band would use this show to promote them. There were some surprising set omissions too, I wonder if they might switch the new tunes out for some bigger hits later down the line.

I'm waiting for the day where two of the ABBA holograms go rogue, leap out of the screen, and proceed to terrorize the Stratford area.

Thankfully it was not this day, but it's coming I'm sure.

I should be seeing Metallica live twice within a week!

OK, it is going to be in my local cinema but the fact that they are in fine form and playing two completely different setlists is a strong incentive to be there. The fact that Tony Newton would not be mixing the shows is also a bonus!

Metallica in Arlington was amazing! Set covered almost every lp and stage/lights/Pyro was great!

Pantera and Mammoth WVH played great but in AT&T Stadium the sound wasn't the greatest (except Metallica sounded fine).

Packed place!
Took 90 MINUTES to leave the parking lot after the show!

I was there! Well, not REALLY there but I was at Guildford Odeon watching the show. Great performance and great selection of songs for the most part.

Really enjoyed the experience, so I will be at show #2 too!

P.S. So glad Tony Newton was nowhere near the mixing desk!

Well, Metallica night #2 also rocked. They did play some songs I do not care about like Dirty Window off St. Anger (at least it does not feature an endless slow bass intro and outro though  ) or No Leaf Clover, but kudos to them for playing a completely different set.

I got to see them play the following 32 songs over both shows:

Seek and Destroy and Whiplash from Kill 'Em All
Ride the Lightning, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Creeping Death and The Call of Ktulu from Ride the Lightning
Battery, Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Leper Messiah and Orion from Master of Puppets
One and Harvester of Sorrow from ...And Justice for All
Enter Sandman, Sad But True, Wherever I May Roam and Nothing Else Matters from Metallica
King Nothing from Load (plus the intro to Outlaw Torn at night #2)
Fuel from Reload
Whiskey in the Jar from Garage Inc.
No Leaf Clover from S&M
Dirty Window from St. Anger
The Day that Never Comes from Death Magnetic
Hardwired and Moth into the Flame from Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
72 Seasons, Shadows Follow, You Must Burn!, Lux Æterna, If Darkness Had a Son and Too Far Gone? from 72 Seasons

Learning more about the All Within My Hands organisation before the show was quite inspirational. An example to follow.

Haven't really been to any concerts yet, I'm hoping Halsey does a tour in the future and I also hope Bruce Dickinson will do another spoken word tour in the UK. I know this sounds a bit weird but I actually want to go to a pop concert in the future, even though I like Rock Music, primarily, I want to win or apply for tickets to the Capital FM Summertime Ball, depending on if Halsey tours in the future.
