This I do not understand. I always listen to albums straight through for the first listen. I think of it as my duty, the band wanted me to experience them in that order, so I must oblige. Can't wait for my deluxe to get here!

I can't right now dude. I swear this thing has had me by the balls since the first five tracks.

The absolutely exceptional didn't come across as glowing? It should have, I was floored by the tune. I just think its 2nd or 3rd best on the album. The Red and the Black and The Man of Sorrows stuck out just a tad more on first listen.
Yeah, yeah. My post come too harsh maybe. I'm just happy with EOTC beacuse I love songs that are different.

Really? The Red and the Black was an absolute chore for me to listen through on my first listen. It fared better the second time around, but I haven't given it another spin yet.

You created an account for the sole purpose of trolling this album?

OK then.

+1. This is spot on. This is someone with another account here being an asshole just for the fun of it.

Just giving my opinion. I´m not going to create an account just to troll. Remember that these are impressions after 1 listen, a week from now I´ll probably like some songs more. I had the same with AMOLAD and TFF.

Regardless, someone signing up with that nick and those first posts is not exactly here to discuss his viewpoints in a serious and mature way. Even if he genuinly did not like the album... I mean, the name screams attention...

I thought the name sounded funny, it´s not meant to be taken seriously. After all the hype build-up I thought I kind of deflate for myself it by not taking it so seriously.

I went through it 3 times. Some songs are growers for sure. The biggest let down - for me - is the production and the mix. The greatest part - for me - is the guitar work. It is amazing as far as I am concerned.

Obviously too early to judge because of the hype, but it got potential to knock off TXF as my 2nd favorite album.

Also, I'm pleased that they've managed to write the faster tracks way better than the start of their reunion

Wait for the official release before counting the production off. The quality of the leak is nowhere near actual lossless quality.

I've only listened to If Eternity Should Fail so far (I don't want to spoil the rest of the album when I get the vinyl edition next week) but:

It's amazing. It sounds like Maiden, but there's something about it that makes it sound like something completely different. The weird intro, with Bruce's lone voice singing "here is the soul of a man", as soon as I heard that I had a massive smile on my face. From then on, the song just gets better. The chorus, if it can be called that, is instantly memorable. I'm not one for making reviews, but I love it, that's all I can say.

Can't wait for next week, and I'm sure it'll sound better on some heavy weight vinyl!

Exactly. So why the name?

Deflate yourself...? I don't even know what that means..Unless you mean you have another account here where you are saying TBOS is quite good. If you're even serious, which I doubt, why not pick a indifferent name like...Eddie666?
How can you even be a Maiden fan and call yourself something like Book of Meh? Too obvious.

Steve holds it as one of the best Maiden album, but what does the founder/leader of Maiden know...?

Yea, cause the founder isn't going to love everything his band does. Give me a break! LOL It is a very widely held belief that X factor is terrible. There is a reason why he was so offended by the Keranng reviewers & wanted to knock him out. They told the truth.

As for that Riff in EotC, it is almost identical to the riff in The Legacy and it bothered me when i 1st heard it (The Legacy is my favorite post reunion song so far) , but after a few listens i think it fits into EotC more than it does The Legacy so i can forgive the "repetition"

It wouldn't surprise me if they actually said "you know...I think that riff in the Legacy would sound better here." Plus...16 albums and there is only so much that hasn't been done at this point.

Holy ***. Just finished the first CD. Mind officially blown. I thought I would rush into store to buy it on the 4th... now I'm seriously considering buying it twice, just for the heck of it. The guitar playing is, like, a whole new level.

If the second half is even better, I seriously might not survive that... :dead:
I thought both halves were fantastic. Someone commented about how the album didn't truly start until disc 2, I believe, and I think that is terribly inaccurate. First disc was just great.
