Was it older generation fans holding signs in 2006 at the 2 shows I saw that said "Play Classics"? Yes.
Was it older generation fans in 2010 that were pissing & moaning about the set list being all newer stuff? Yes.

These are selfish fans. These are not fans of the band. These are fans of a few albums. Or they were fans of the band and they are only going to shows to relive the feeling of being younger.

Sorry, but real fans of a band should appreciate everything the band does, old or new. They may not like all of it, but someone who actually tells the band what they should or should not be playing at a live show should just fuck right off.

Im 29 and started listening to Maiden in 2005. I've been to 3 Maiden concerts and had my fill of the 'classics' by the 2nd time already. If it was up to me I'd rather have Maiden not play many of their classics anymore and focus on underplayed or unplayed songs from their catalogue.

Of course when we talk about 'classics' we mean the old Run to the Hills, Trooper and Can I Play. For example To Tame a Land is not a 'classic' in a concert scenario, while it is a classic in general.

Truth be told, I don't really care what they play. I'm there to go see them play what they want.

However, it was hard going in 2010 or 2012 when Hallowed wasn't played. Can't recall which tour it was. But, it was the only show I've been to where it wasn't played & I just left unsatisfied. The only time out of 20 shows. I just feel like every Maiden show deserves that song live.

I've seen Maiden once and they didn't play Hallowed. When a band drops a song they've been playing every concert for 20 years straight (I'm being approximate here) and people still whine, that is just bullshit. People should go to see Maiden, not Hallowed.

I thought the song was pretty decent when I first heard it yesterday, different than what I expected but still solid. But today it's completely clicked with me. I'm enjoying it a lot more now and love it as a rocky single track that will probably end up being the "weakest" track on an album that will probably be filled with absolute monsters.
I expect it to be second weakest to Death or Glory.

They should definitely drop all their overplayed songs (except Hallowed)

Your loss to not have seen it. The only 1 whining is you. You know what I think is bullshit? People like you telling others what they should & shouldn't think & do. I mean, really? LOL

You take a simple little comment about my preference to wanting to see my favorite song live every time I see them & leaving that 1 show unsatisfied as whining.

I mean, if everyone thought like you do, what fun would anything be? In case you weren't aware, people are entitled to their own opinions & beliefs. And when they are expressed, shouldn't be told they whine or do thinks like others.

Get over yourself for god sakes.

Ok, granted, we're all getting a little worked up here (new song! new song! brain dead! new song!), but in Saap's defense: if everyone thought like you do, literally nothing would be fun. You've seen them 20 times. 20 TIMES! And you didn't hear your favorite song once?! Jesus. You should count your lucky damn stars for the 19 times you did hear it!

That post was entirely out of line and an unnecessary and aggressive attack on another member. You're getting a warning point for this, mate.

It must be sad to be so easily influenced by what you read without hearing anything for yourself.
You need to calm down buddy.. he said he expects. We do have a whole thread dedicated to predictions you know. Why are you singling out his? And your comments about new people getting to you? How is that helping to create a safe fun environment for new members? I'm baffled how Hallowed got a warning and you didn't.

And how is this different than many fans here & elsewhere that whine about the old songs on the setlist? There are 2 ways to skin a cat. Whatever you think I'm whining about is being whined about in droves by those who share your mindest.

There is no difference but, you are the ones who feel others are whining.

Y'll need to take a good hard look in the mirror.

TY, it is absurb.

Valid points. Sorry, guys. I am admittedly getting a bit worked up. Somehow my excitement turned into annoyance and then RAAAAAAGE. We should all be celebrating, not berating.

Cheers to new Maiden!

Wtf is everyone going on about?!? Enjoy the new single everyone and stop bitching about past set lists. Last couple of pages is why I hardly post here.
