I didn't like El Dorado at all. It's quite fun live but on album... meh. So if SOL is El Dorado of BOS - i'm happy with that beacuse I love new song.

You take a simple little comment about my preference to wanting to see my favorite song live every time I see them & leaving that 1 show unsatisfied as whining.

Dude, calm down. You entered this thread, claiming that songs like Paschendale, Rainmaker etc are ordinary and nothing special. You told us how the old guys demand classics. You may not have meant to say that you see new Maiden as inferior to the old Maiden, but your tone made it look that way. All of this and you expect no counter-argument? People who come here with the "play classics" story always find a majority of the forum disagreeing with them. It's nothing personal, you are not special.

If Maiden brings back Hallowed in the set list, I hope they let Adrian play his solo! Janick should have enough of his own solos to play in the new material.

It's not about 'letting' Adrian have his solo - he didn't want to play it, or else he would have. I think I read somewhere that he thought Janick's style fitted the faster tempo better. Knowing Adrian's concerns over just about anything regarding their performances, it makes perfect sense.

Exactly this. Sorry @Hallowedbeme, the tone of the responses you received was fair. Maybe annoyed - because new album time seems to bring out the Play Classics crowd - but fair. Your responses were very rude.

It's definitely great, but in a market economy they're still in a unique position as a band, relying on both dedicated fans and strong new material to be able to shift focus like that.

I recall when AMOLAD came out and I was totally in love with it. My favorite since SSOASS (I'm old and saw that in '88). What I found especially cool is that I took my 15 (I think then) year old son to see them play and he loved it too. Now he is a huge fan of new and old material both.

I always refer back to Iron Maiden as an example for how some older bands should be doing their setlists. Queensryche, for example, could be doing much better live if they took a page from Maiden's touring notebook.

I'm 40 and I've been a huge fan since I was 13 and I love everything, old and new.

I took my father to see them in 2003. He didn't like that kind of music (opera kind of guy) but after show and 12 years later he still consider them "best band to see live".
