I seriously wonder if some of these folks who constantly complain about the set stand there crossed armed and unappreciative.  It's a live show, it's supposed to be fun.

I have thought the same. Still, most people I have talked to after the shows I've been to seem to think "great show, but I wish they had played [insert classic song they didn't play] as well". That is, they have enjoyed themselves, but miss a song or two.

if you don't like it don't read this forum. We have a somewhat reliable source (Bruce) on what the set is going to be therefore were using spoiler tags.

Dude, as the tour hasn't started yet, everything related to a supposedly chosen set list is just speculation. And this can't trigger any spoiler alerts/tags, whatsoever...

AFTER the first gig shall have occurred, in Moscow, yes, the use of the spoiler tags should make sense.

I think most people who are into the band long enough remember most of the 90's as a terrible period for he band. Sure, No Prayer and FOTD did fine but neither album can compete with what came before. The Blaze era saw Maiden fans disappear in droves and BNW is linked to the "reunion era". As a fan, sure, I'd love to see a 90's era gig. But would it bring in the numbers like SBIT? The answer, despite what the 90's fanboys think is a resounding NO. They'll probably throw a few token 90's songs in on future tours but a tour in support of an era dominated by critical and commercial failure is just not going to happen.
I think Maiden has regained enough popularity to where all their fans would go see them no matter what type of tour they do.

The mods said that we have to use spoiler tags even for what Bruce said. Rules are rules and they're easy enough to follow. :)

I complain about setlists all of the time, but I go see and mostly enjoy the shows every time I go. Although the infamous AMOLAD show in Nassau Colisseum (the show of the infamous Play Classics sign) was a bit tedious. I won't be happy until Maiden plays shows that last more than 1 hour and 45 minutes AND have varying sets throughout the tour AND they play only the songs I like.
With the amount of energy they put into their shows combined with their age, longer shows are not going to happen. Those would just take too much out of Maiden.

If you don't like the rules, don't post here. We're not asking for much.

I don't necessarily fully believe that Wild Wind will be played.  I think Isle of Avalon would be a lot better as a live epic.  Remember, the last "space" album didn't feature a Harris penned epic closer from that album either.  Food for though.
very good point.

A future catalog tour does not need to be from one era, I know they did ot for Early Days and SBIT ... but they could do a 90s and before show or some combo of Live One/Dead one would make a nice setlist.

They could make a nice setlist for a early 90's tour, something like this (I used Live At Donington setlist as a base):
01. Be Quick Or Be Dead
02. The Number Of The Beast
03. Wrathchild
04. From Here To Eternity
05. Wasting Love
06. The Evil That Men Do
07. Afraid To Shoot Strangers
08. Heaven Can Wait
09. Run To The Hills
10. 2 Minutes To Midnight
11. Wasted Years
12. Mother Russia
13. The Trooper
14. Fear Of The Dark
15. Iron Maiden
-
16. Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter
17. Running Free
18. Hallowed Be Thy Name

They could do it. But I suspect they don't want to do it. I wouldn't blame them either.

Just listening to The Alchemist. Would be a great follow up to The Final Frontier in the live set

Hi to everyone. Some new from Russia. In interview to Weekend magazine Bruce says something interesting that
they will play 4 song from the TFF, and add some classics like "the trooper" and "2 miinutes to midnigt" and that they 've done a new Eddie, that is smaller than the "old" Eddie and he is more agile, and videocameras sets in his eyes, which transmitting picture to the big screens on the stage... so we can see through the eyes of Eddie. (sorry for my english)... and this is a link for interview, if somewhone knows russian

This interview was a few days ago. Maybe Bruce isn't sure what is going on or he just likes to mess with us. Eddie has had cameras in his eyes since SBIT.

In that Russian interview, Bruce says that they'll

play four TFF songs in total. As in "we've played one song on the first leg, now we'll play four".
I call that bullshit, opener, El Dorado, Coming Home, and that leaves only one more? They'll forget all epics except one? This isn't possible.
6 songs would be adequate. 5 songs, OK. 4 songs - absurd. This is the highest selling album they've ever had!

Also, regarding Eddie, yes he had cameras since SBiT, but i haven't noticed feed from his head going live to videoscreens on SBiT or TFF 1st leg.

If it's only 4 we'll get El Dorado the title track, Coming Home, and one of the epics. Most likely When The Wild Wind Blows. I still think they should do the whole thing live. Or do 8 songs instead of the regular 6 only dropping TMWWBK and The Alchemist. But at this point it seems we will be lucky to get 6.

maybe they go and read the comments on blabbermouth.

We're just saying what songs we'd like to see. Once the tour gets going I'm sure these hypothetical setlists will stop.

I have just realized that i havent seen Running free played alive with bruce dickinson. I ve seen every single tour since X factor tour less the early days part I and they played it .I hope they dont drop the song,i want to sing the chorus!
