I sure hope there's some good folks in Moscow who will be able to text the setlist live.

Yup. I'm probably going to be geeky enough to stay online and browse the internet for such a list on the night... :smartarse:

So do you still think Maiden's sets are predictable?

I will concede the Early Days was an awesome set and yes full of surprises.

SBIT, Moonchild was a surprise.

As to the 2010 tour my point is ALL of those songs were played before some, many times, and nothing that hadn't been played in a long time. The insertion of Wrathchild to "speed up" the set is the most egregious example.

Let's reconvene in 10 days and see count how many songs were NOT played on the 2010 leg (not including any TFF songs, of course). I'd be shocked if it's more than 1. And even more shocked if it's not The Trooper , The Evil That Men Do, 23:58 or Heaven Can Wait.

Prove me wrong, Maiden, oh please prove me wrong!

For me, it doesn't make any sense Maiden dropping a History Tour covering NPFTD to BNW. It's part of their History.  And it can boost album sales.

On topic, personally, i would like to hear live
Starblind
.

I think most people who are into the band long enough remember most of the 90's as a terrible period for he band. Sure, No Prayer and FOTD did fine but neither album can compete with what came before. The Blaze era saw Maiden fans disappear in droves and BNW is linked to the "reunion era". As a fan, sure, I'd love to see a 90's era gig. But would it bring in the numbers like SBIT? The answer, despite what the 90's fanboys think is a resounding NO. They'll probably throw a few token 90's songs in on future tours but a tour in support of an era dominated by critical and commercial failure is just not going to happen.

I really don't understand all this bullshit with the spoiler tags! Geez, the tour haven't started yet, we are just expressing our personal option of a set list!
if you don't like it don't read this forum. We have a somewhat reliable source (Bruce) on what the set is going to be therefore were using spoiler tags.

When they play the wind sound before When the Wild Wind Blows, people gonna say; " Fuck it's WTWWB, not Alexander the Great!"
but they probably won't play the wind sound. What they should do is play the wind sound and then start the ATG spoken piece and then start When The Wild Wind Blows.  :devil2:

2010 was a big surprise. I saw the show and I did not read setlists and for the most part, didn't know anything about the set. I was expecting the "Maiden Antique Show" and was very surprised when Eddie Trunk was on the radio on my way to the show and started talking about how the Trooper and RTTH isn't in the set. I did not expect a set with mostly reunion material. On top of that they changed the set a few times so for the beginning of the tour it was hard to tell what they would do next.

I'm not gonna attempt making a list. But I think we will see the return of tracks like..2 minutes to midnight, the trooper, run to the hills, The evil that men do, Wrathchild maybe..And less newer tracks. Only because we know that the tour will see Maiden hit new countries and lots of festivals

maybe not all of those. Wrathchild is guaranteed. Run To The Hills is very likely and I can't see them not doing the Trooper. That is about it.

What a dissapointing setlist (from the new album that is). No starblind, no isle of avalon , no mother of mercy (the new and improved stranger in a strange land in my book) but coming home(a mediocre power ballad) and where the wild wind blows (i can't see this working live at all) ??? Seriously this blows !!

Oh well if they come to Greece i'll go but i'll definately won't travel to London to see them otherwise , like i was planning .

spoiler tag ?

As well as the setlist speculation (which is a great tradition before a Maiden tour :)) are we getting any support bands this year in the uk?

My spoiler tags are on the fritz, but my educated guess [from an educated fool] ahem, is those songs mentioned above, and then a classic barrage.  Only a guess, so no spoilage here:

I'm guessing the new FF songs + The Trooper, 23:58, RTTH, The Evil TMD, IM,and something a little quirky like say...22 AA.  + the
"New Classics":  Ben Breege. Brave NW, and Wildest dreams.

I hope they keep 1 or 2 songs from 2000-2008 era and 4 songs from the new album and 8-10 classic songs ....AND PLEEEEEEEASE,different classics! I would love Flight of icarus,The prisoner,Afraid to shoot strangers,Caught somewhere in time,Where eagles dare,killers,etc..... i cant understand why they keep playing the same classics.Im sure they know the fans want different classics, but if they go to festivals there are certain songs had to be played.Dont know....

I am sure this has been discussed to death, but I am not really sure why someone (beyond a moderator who needs to watch the board) would enter a thread called The 2011 Tour Thread! (SPOILERS) if they did not want to find out anything about the 2011 tour before going.

I agree that there are more dangerous places to make mistakes.

What's worse:
- someone does use spoilers in a song topic.
Wait a minute: what's the problem if there are spoiler tags?
Well, it's done in a topic of a certain song, so big chance it's about that same song.

What's worst:
- someone creates a new topic and mentions a setlist song in the title (and says it's part of the set)
This is impossible to evade.

If Wildest Dreams becomes a staple for years to come, it's a crying shame, as there are much better songs from the past 2000 era that deserve that status.

In the grand tradition of Iron Maiden, the have been many song titles followed by a particular profession, The Trooper, The Prisoner, The Alchemist, The Mercenary, The Fugitive, etc.

I am really hoping on the next album they include a song called:

The Spoiler

I don't necessarily fully believe that Wild Wind will be played.  I think Isle of Avalon would be a lot better as a live epic.  Remember, the last "space" album didn't feature a Harris penned epic closer from that album either.  Food for though.

Perhaps I'm easily pleased or a huge fanboy (actually, I'll admit to both) but I've seen Maiden 15 times live and for the most part, what they play is always going to be enjoyable.  I never tire of the experience.  While on paper
Wrathchild or Trooper and I suspect both will be on this tour set list
seem redundant, they are always a ton of fun live.  I seriously wonder if some of these folks who constantly complain about the set stand there crossed armed and unappreciative.  It's a live show, it's supposed to be fun.

Anyway, this will be all speculative for the next few days anyway.

I complain about setlists all of the time, but I go see and mostly enjoy the shows every time I go. Although the infamous AMOLAD show in Nassau Colisseum (the show of the infamous Play Classics sign) was a bit tedious. I won't be happy until Maiden plays shows that last more than 1 hour and 45 minutes AND have varying sets throughout the tour AND they play only the songs I like.
