TBOS Tour Predictions

Technically it's no big deal to tune the one string up on stage, but I guess they would like to the have separate guitars properly set up for the two tunings. When I heard about the drop D situation, I immediately imagined that it's going to look a bit awkward when they'll all change guitars at the same time after the first song :p The IESF outro comes in handy.
I can't seem use the outro live. It will crash end into Speed of Light if they play those two songs. Adrian changes the guitar when they crash-end IESF, and starts his riff. Dave and Janick change guitar while Adrian opens the song.

I could totally see them doing the outro over the PA after the first song, would give sufficient time to swap out gear where needed. It's really no different than an intro really (ie, The Prisoner).

It is when H and Dave are mostly Floyd Rose users, and Janick's Strats probably aren't straight forward to drop tune either (I believe the trems are floating). If they're playing Les Pauls it's a different matter entirely, but if there's one thing we can be certain of when they're touring with Ed Force One, it is that if they feel the need to bring an extra guitar each - it's probably a no go.

It's a 747!

There are about 6-7 songs to fill the setlist up after the BOS ones and the givens of FOTD , Hallowed (Set Closer i hope) , Iron Maiden , Trooper

I haven't read it yet, but apparently in the new Kerrange Bruce says he can't wait to play
Death or Glory
live!

So, worst case scenario, we'll get something like...
If Eternity Should Fail
Speed of Light
Death or Glory
And I'd put my money on either TRATB or BOS... hopefully both.
Probably TOAC as well, Bruce has said it's his favorite on the record.

Now Mr. Dickinson, please stop with this "3 or 4" new songs nonsense! :p

Got Kerrang today....

Bruce commented, while listening to Death of Glory, that he can't wait to do it live. Make of that what you will! He went on to talk about his cancer treatment, and possible long-term effects on his voice.

I think he's mentioned playing this one live in a couple radio interviews as well... either Eddie Trunk or Chris Jericho.

Just downloaded the iPad version of Kerrang... what a crap magazine! And of course, they're splitting the Bruce interview up over several issues, meaning, of course, I will buy every single one because I am a die-hard Maiden freak...

By the way, the new Classic Rock has a great interview with each band member in it! They each get at least a page, Bruce and Steve's are longer.

I should have included that warning, it is a pretty awful magazine. Jumps on every trend possible and only occasionally says something you didn't already know. I'll have a look at Classic Rock, although I've exceeded my quota of magazines this week.

It's very good- if a little short, but pretty insightful and great to hear from the other band members (no offense to Bruce but he's been carrying the PR weight of the record by himself for weeks!)

Apparently they have SEVENTEEN special edition covers (16 studio records + LAD) which is a bit much in print... but on the iPad version you can browse all of the covers.

Okay, I might have to buy one or two of those

I think it'll be this:
IESF, SOL, Death or Glory, Book of Souls, The Man of Sorrows, Tears of a Clown. Big chance, these first four. Smaller chance, these last two. However: Bruce stated that Tears of a Clown is one of his favourite songs, and it's time they play a new Dave song live again.

Cmon, they are changing the guitars all the time at concerts
Besides, who says that they all have to be drop D? Just one of them is enough really, to fill the low end
I bet Janick won't change the guitar at all :p (maybe will play the outro on acoustic, which will give the others enough time to change their clothes, let alone guitars :D )

I think that's a pretty good guess.

Bruce said in an interview that all of them detuned. So probably they thought one drop D guitar is not enough and I doubt it will change on tour. But who knows.
