So with the things Bruce said I should update mine. One of the things he said is that they were going to reshuffle classics. So HCW seems likely in my opinion.
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed of Light
3. Two Minutes to Midnight
4. Dance of Death / Talisman
5. Different World
6. Die With Your Boots On
7. The Red and the Black / Shadows of the Valley
8. The Trooper
9. Tears of a Clown
10. The Book of Souls
11. Heaven Can Wait
12. Fear of the Dark
13. Iron Maiden
-----
14. Number of the Beast
15. The Wicker Man
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name

I would guess TFF tracks will get a fair amount of play ... at least I hope so ... given only El Dorado was played in the US (minus the 2 Florida dates later on)
That's true, but for some reason they aren't as big as the whoa's in either HCW or TRATB. HCW is also longish, so I just don't see them keeping it in the set when they'll most likely played TRATB and Wicker Man.

I doubt it. I think we'll probably get 4-5 BOS songs, 1 TFF song (probably one of the singles), 1 AMOLAD (or none because of the full album tour), 1-2 DoD songs, 1-2 BNW songs, and a set of 5 classics (with one lesser played classic thrown in).
After listening to the album, here's my revised prediction:
01. If Eternity Should Fail
02. Speed of Light
03. 2 Minutes to Midnight
04. Wasted Years
05. The Book of Souls
06. Ghost of the Navigator
07. The Trooper
08. Wrathchild
09. The Red and the Black
10. The Number of the Beast
11. Tears of a Clown
12. Fear of the Dark
13. Iron Maiden
------
14. The Wicker Man
15. Running Free
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name
I'm not going to speculate on the setlist only to say that they could play the entire BOS album with 3 classics for encores and get away with it. As far as stage design, I hope they ditch the cookie cutter stage that they've been using and utilize more texture than sheets hung over metal frames. As far as the grand finale, I totally see them possibly using the totem poles with lit eyes and the massive Mayan eddie coming up slowly for the final reveal and fireworks!
The downside to using the plane for the tour is that it limits what they can drag around versus trucks .. though I suppose the 747 is better than the previous planes as far as capacity. I assume that will limit the amount of pyro as well (I assume the bring it with them versus getting it at each venue .. not really sure .. but in any case, you cannot bring that stuff on planes)
If Eternity Should Fail
Speed of Light
The Great Unknown
The Red And The Black
When The River Runs Deep
The Book Of Souls
Death or Glory
Shadows of the Valley
Tears of a Clown
Man of Sorrows
Empire of the Clouds
Iron Maiden
Stranger In a Strange Land
Hallowed Be Thy Name

Yeah you're right, in the John McMurtrie photography book it says that they bring the pyro in on trucks to each show because of the strict regulations around taking those sorts of things on aircraft.
I don't see them switching to "evening with" extended set.
Normal Maiden concert length could fit all of the new album plus 2 old songs, but it's not going to happen (fan reaction was mixed to AMOLAD + 5 old songs).
Rumor is we'll get 5 new songs, and "Empire of the Clouds" won't be one of them.
I'm assuming the show will start with "If Eternity Should Fail" and "Speed of Light" (as the album lead and first single, they'll be played).
Beyond that, I'm hoping we'll get "The Red and the Black" and "The Book of Souls".
"Shadows of the Valley" and "When the River Runs Deep" would be nice too.
I don't know if Dickinson can sing "Hallowed Be Thy Name" anymore (he sounded strained on the last couple tours and on much of the new album). Age and years of touring has taken its toll, and the throat cancer isn't going to help.

He sang it flawlessly on the En Vivo DVD, and that was only four years ago. And I don't think he sounds strained at all on the new album, not as much than on TFF anyway.
I reckon with enough time to recuperate from his treatment, he'd be able to sing Hallowed Be Thy Name without any problem.

I'm not expecting the range, energy, and power we got on Beast over Hammersmith, and he still sang well on En Vivo. But he sounded strained on some parts. That's not a criticism... it's not his fault he's getting old.
I'm just glad they're still producing music and touring, and that Dickinson is giving 100% (unlike the late 1980s to early 1990s when, by his own account, he'd lost interest in the band).
Sure it is. He could have died young like rock stars are supposed to do. That way there would only ever be classics, though of course nobody to play them.
Not being realistic, but I'm still hoping very much they’ll also include more than one song from AMOLAD, since it’s going to be the 10th anniversary. Not very likely, though.
However I still do believe the setlist is going to be reunion-heavy.
If we're not getting Empire of the Clouds live, I'm going to be hugely disappointed... I mean, pulling off an 18-minute track live seems to be such a natural next big thing for them and for everyone to talk about. This song is in the absolute centre of attention when it comes to The Book of Souls, so it would be shame to lose it on the upcoming tour. It can't be impossible to perform. I don't see much difference between playing an 18-minute track and playing a 13-minute track and a 5-minute track afterwards (but I might be ignorant at this point, I don't know).
I don't think that the supposed orchestration is an insuperable obstacle. They can simplify the lines (if there are multiple instruments playing simultaneously) and Kenney could perform from the backstage. I don't see Bruce playing piano on stage, though... He keeps repeating he's not a good pianist, so I imagine it would get pretty sloppy. Besides I can't help thinking it would look just too damn cheesy
But who knows, maybe after hearing the song it will become apparent it won't work live. It's hard to imagine, but we'll see in two weeks. As for the rest of The Book of Souls - If Eternity Should Fail obviously IS the opener, it's no contest.
Intro is the giveaway - it's going to be taped and the band will run onstage with the proper song kicking in, just as in the case of S15... TFF.
Besides, I think we're getting Speed of Light, The Book of Souls, one of the 5-6 minute songs and possibly Death or Glory. Since it's the second disc's opener, maybe it will be the first song of the encore? It's possible, but I think it's more likely that the main setlist will be all post-2000 and the encore will be all classics. I can think of two scenarios for The Red and the Black. If there will be no Empire of the Clouds, I'm quite sure it is going to be played as the epic of the new album. If Empire will be on the setlist, then The Red and the Black would be too much in my opinion.
I don't want to read too much of the songs' descriptions, so I will probably update or confirm my picks after hearing the album.
Now, the rest of the setlist... Of course I assume the tour is going to be post-2000 centred. I think we can expect some major drops in the classics. Out of the BNW songs played in 2010, Brave New World is the most likely to be featured now. Besides, maybe Ghost of the Navigator. I don't think we're going to get The Wicker Man. From Dance of Death it would be really cool to see Rainmaker. It is also hard to expect something different than Dance of Death or Paschendale instead. Of course there has to be something from AMoLaD, so I bet it's The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg. I expect The Final Frontier (I mean the title track) to return, probably along with Coming Home as the slower song on the first third of the setlist for everyone to catch a breath.
I'm looking forward to seeing many of the classics dropped... I'm fine with the absence of: The Trooper, Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast, 2 Minutes to Midnight... I also think it's time for Fear of the Dark to have a break. However, I think HallowedBe Thy Name will be back this time (probably as the last song). There are some rather unlikely songs from the 80's I would really like to see. For example Prowler. I'd love to see it back on the setlist. Stranger In a Strange Land would be great too, but there's about 5% chance for that... It's not an encore song and I still bet the main setlist is going to be all new stuff. Anyway I think they will surprise us with something. Powerslave would be cool. Being ancient-themed it would fit the new stage production quite well. With the intro it could work great as the first song of the encore.
As for Blaze era I think there is not much to choose from. At this point the material is too epic-heavy to expect The Sign of the Cross or The Clansman. There is, however, a song that I would really like to see - Lord of the Flies. It's one of the best Maiden songs IMO and was amazing during the DoD tour. They should play it more often.
Okay, so here is my 'prediction'. I tried to keep balance between my dreams and what is actually possible:
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed of Light
3. Ghost of the Navigator
4. Coming Home
5. Rainmaker
6. Dance of Death /Paschendale
7. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
8. The Final Frontier
9. The Book of Souls
10. Brave New World
11. (anything from TBoS shorter than 8 minutes)
12. Lord of the Flies
13. Empire of the Clouds /The Red and the Black(TRatB would probably be played earlier)
14. Iron Maiden
15. Powerslave
16. Prowler
17. Hallowed Be Thy Name
OK, so after the album dropped and many interviews appeared, I suppose my setlist is not happening.
Now that EotC disappointed me, I'm glad Bruce confirmed it's not going to be played. I'm pretty sure we'll get The Red and the Black in this case, which is fine.
The following is nothing confirmed, but there is some hinting going on, so spoiler:
Death or Glory probably will be played, because Bruce said "it will/would work good live," or something like that. I also think Tears of a Clown will be played, because it is his favourite, so it looks like there might be some attention brought to it within the band.
From the rest of the songs, that I wasn't sure about before the release, I would like The Great Unknown to be played, simply because it's so good. I don't think we're getting WtRRD, TMoS or SotV. They just don't feel like Maiden's live picks. My dislike apart, I think Empire wouldn't work well live. The piano itself is problematic. There's no way Bruce is playing that singing at the same time. There would have to be minimum two guys on keyboards backstage to play both the piano and all the keyboard lines (because I don't think they would decide drop them). They could manage to pull it off if they were using a metronome live. Then all the additional instruments could be played from tape.
I was kind of disappointed about how indifferent Bruce appeared to be regarding setlist (or maybe it's just me). He was like "I don't know, we'll play 3 or 4 or 5 new songs"... It seems they don't have any special plans regarding the setlist. Therefore I think if we were to get as many reunion songs in the setlist as I predicted, he would hint it. So we'll probably get more classics.
Yeah you're right, in the John McMurtrie photography book it says that they bring the pyro in on trucks to each show because of the strict regulations around taking those sorts of things on aircraft.
