Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I actually think the best reunion album production has been TBOS. I think Steve has been listening to other band members, particularly Adrian, and it has improved the sound. There is more bottom end generally in the overall sound and reverb on Bruce's vocals individually. There is reverb on Bruce's vocals in WOTW and it does make a difference.

Interesting. Sound is good I agree. For me it is AMOLAD, I'll look to TBOS again.

I can understand where you are coming from particularly due to the length of the album. There are a few songs that are weaker than the others including WTRRD and TBOS itself but I enjoy the majority of the album. We are getting off topic so I will say that with four Harris efforts Senjutsu has to be a mammoth album. Most of my favourite Maiden songs are Steve Harris compositions. POTO being the ultimate Maiden song closely followed by ROTAM IMHO...

As I said already, TBOS for me is the best post reunion album. But if I would be allowed, I would cut out two songs from the album:
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed of Light
3. The Red and the Black
4. The Book of Souls
5. Death or Glory
6. Shadows of the Valley
7. Tears of the Clown
8. The Man of Sorrows
9. Empire of the Clouds

AMOLAD sounds fantastic true. Originally was released as a non Mastered album. Two years ago I bought the vinyl version to a friend and noticed that the sound was up. If I remember correctly I didn't find any Mastering credits. Then I checked in internet, everywhere it's mentioned as a remastered.

So I'm guessing whether we bought CD or vinyl back in 2006 is now very rare. Unfortunately I can't find my CD of 2006 anymore.
I only recently bought the 2006 CD from eBay only because I wanted the making-of DVD. It wasn't expensive so I would guess not that rare.

And you're right, no mastering credit which is very unusual for a major release. You wouldn't know it as the album is pretty loud.

The only post reunion Harris epic I love is For The Greater Good of God, others ranging from ok to bad. So having 4 of them, 3 of which in a row.. it makes me worry.

But I understand your point too. There is some chance to be a mammoth album, absolutely.

But this is my point. They remastered the album and didn't bother to reprint the credits to show it.
I had the original 2006 release and I can tell you it was definitely low.

To tell you the truth I find it quite frustrating.

Someone pointed this out on Reddit. So this image that someone posted on the FC Forum suggests that Stratego might be another single from the album: (I don't know the origin on the image, though someone on reddit said they saw it on Amazon)

Well, if you look for the album on iTunes the only song other than TWOTW that has a time next to it is Stratego.
Seems to back up the idea that Stratego will be the next single, and that we might hear it before the album is released.

Speed of Light was announced 6 years ago today, with the video dropping a week later. Obviously things have come out a bit different this time round with the video/single coming out before the album announcement. But maybe we'll hear more music sooner rather than later?

Thoughts?
I'd love to know where that picture originated from. How do we know it's real? Also, can you please link to where that iTunes screenshot is from? Thanks!

For the Greater Good of God should be replaced in any circumstances. It's not one of their best epics, imo. (please, don't get mad at me for this. You can't entirely ignore crowd reaction during this song). Ok, i'll put it this way, the song is good and moving by itself, but it is not one of those where audience would go nuts and energetic.
I'd vote for Infinite Dreams or the obvious ROTAM.
Bruce couldn’t sing either one of those anymore. They would have to de-tune by half a step and that would never happen.

Adrian wrote two bangers for TBOS. SOL and DOG. Gers strikes back with Stratego on Senjutsu. We will see if he's succeeded when we hear new single. He clearly wanted to have his climb like a monkey moment live. :D

It's lower than many of the brickwalled CD's released around the same time but it's not as low as you would expect an unmastered album to sound.

I can't verify the album pic unfortunately. Someone posted it here a bunch of pages ago saying it was from the FC Forum and I saw it on Reddit too.

The iTunes screenshot I just took on my laptop before posting. It's from the iTunes Store (I'm UK based if that makes any difference, I don't know if the US stores etc show it differently?)

It's hard to know. It might be the second single released post album release as we are a bit close to the album release for another single...Stratego is a Gers/Harris rocker (probably) so makes sense for a single.
Maybe folks who are clamoring for a Trooper type song will get their wish

I would love to hear Infinite Dreams live again. I was disappointed they decided not to include it in the Maiden England tour. Should have been there instead of ATSS.
