RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Compared to the TFP Tour, this setlist has many almost certain spots, leaving little room for deep cuts to be included. I don't expect as many novelties as we saw with Alexander, Stranger, and Icarus. I'll be satisfied with Phantom and Rime coming back, two of my favorite live songs from them. My expectations are more focused on how fresh they will sound with the new drummer, how he’ll approach Clive’s songs, and possibly a 10-year delayed stage set change. I hope they’re wise enough not to make Bruce embarrass himself with too many hard songs from the '80s that haven't been played for a long time. Encore choices, tempo, and even tuning are essential here.

Well, downtuning changes the feel of the song massively.

That said, they should do it on some songs in the future, but not the full set. Hallowed being one of them, for example. And half step, not D standard, which changes the sound of the song too much.

And yet they took Lord of the Flies down a tone so that Bruce could do the chorus an octave higher…

They should have dropped at least a semitone or whole tone years ago, but they would never have done it. Bruce and Steve are too stubborn.

As for the changing the feel of the song, it would have been weird at first but we would have all got used it to it. I’m not the world’s biggest Metallica fan, but I barely noticed they have dropped the tuning of most of their songs.

Well said about the certain spots. They should expand it by 2 songs, if possible for better variety. You know, if they want the tour to be more unique, although after TFP they probably are preparing the usual classics, especially with a new drummer.

How they will sound with the new drummer is a key thing. Nicko's parts too.

The 80's songs are not easy for any vocalist, but Bruce is in great shape and the knows the usual classics. Ofc a song like Long Distance Runner won't be played, Aces should only be the opener, Both Trooper and Hills shouldn't be on the encores together... Songs not played for a long time - um, Rime, Seventh Son, Land, Infinite Dreams, won't be easy for Bruce.

The tempo will be the same, Bruce and Adrian won't like it any faster.

I would never get used to it. I understand Bruce.

I have a strong feeling that Infinite Dreams and Still life will be on the set list. These are the big songs outside of Alexander the Great, that fans have been calling for since they were left off the Maiden England revival tour back in 2013.

I also think Only the good die young will make an appearance as Steve has mentioned a few times in past interviews about wanting to play that song.

Another one I think is nailed on is To Tame a Land. It’s only ever been played on the piece of mind tour and would would be this tours Alexander as the next epic to get a revival.

These would be the 4 deep cuts then the rest of the set made up of the usual staples.

I also think Bring your daughter to the slaughter is nailed on but wouldn’t be considered a true deep cut.

I guess the number of the cuts will depend on how many songs they play. Their 80s songs are shorter, for the most part, than most of what came after the reunion. Will we be getting a 17-song setlist?

I think the following songs will probably be played (in chronological order):

Phantom of the Opera
Iron Maiden
Wrathchild
The Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills
Hallowed be Thy Name
The Trooper
2 Minutes to Midnight
Powerslave
Wasted Years
The Evil that Men Do
Bring your Daughter... to the Slaughter
Fear of the Dark

That makes already 13 songs. I do not think they will choose more than a couple of deep cuts (if any at all), so we might end up with Running Free and Sanctuary being played live.

That's already half an hour into their 1hr, 30mn set. A lot of people want classics, but imo, a more interesting choice would be a No Epics setlist.

Frome somewhere or the dont play any song or stranger. And my doubt is if they play murders or be quick or be dead as an opener. Or both. Killers or wrathchild are 90% in the setlist. And rime 99% for sure. And phantom 100%

If that is the setlist ive seen that show 14 times.

It's still a bit of a disappointment that it will most likely be so, especially considering Steve thinks there's nothing worth celebrating past 1992 lol. Unless they pull an Early Days-type move and play real deep cuts, like Another Life.

The Real Live Dead One set was interesting as well. And playing Where Eagles Dare could create a bit of an homage moment for Nicko.

No, it doesn't. Sure, if you drop it four or five semitones it'll be a massive difference, but a single one? I guarantee you the vast majority of the audience would never notice the difference, especially live. Hell, they transposed Lord Of The Flies a whole tone and there are still people who never noticed the change.

What actually changes the feel of the songs is the vastly different tempos (Aces High in 99, Flight Of Icarus in 84 being much faster, FOTD being much slower the last few years). That's immediately noticeable yet no one cares about the "sanctity of the studio version" for lack of a better description. This vehement refusal to even entertain downtuning (when Maiden has already transposed a song before) was always silly and is still silly nowadays.
