I just meant I wouldn't find it very likable if someone travels the world playing music and what he had to say about this priviledge
would be complaining about not seeing his grandchild for a few months when he still has the rest of the year and also can call, video-call etc.
What an immature world view lmao

Touring is incredibly taxing. Dave's been doing it for huge chunks of his life and has probably missed more than enough important events that other parents and grandparents can take for granted. He definitely earned to live the rest of his life on his own terms. A video call is not the same as being there and being actively involved.

At times it feels like some folks here just want to complain and attack Maiden for having some totally normal and reasonable stances. Go listen to Wasted Years again.

I understand but if a 70 year old man has had enough of doing the same thing for fifty years and wants to spend his time with his family then I'm fine with it

This. I know people want Maiden to go on forever but they are human too.

Seriously. Like, I get feeling entitled about certain things. Broken record and all that, but I wish that Maiden would deliver "better" productions (as in, stuff that appeals more to my tastes and is closer to what they did in the late 80s). We can argue back and forth about if that's a good thing or not, but at least that is something that they could theoretically deliver without many sacrifices.

Going "fuck Dave's grandchild" is too much even for me and is such a comically outrageous take that it feels more like satire than something someone would actually believe lol

Indeed! I have been critical of the boys in the past, but it is only human to want to spend more time with your family.

Although right now is an exception for me. My toddler is refusing to go to sleep, so I am running her round .

I find this upcoming tour to be kind of unnecessary. I'm more excited about the current one (seeing them in Nov) because they ignored SiT for so long. They already did Legacy. If it's their last one, I get it. But what about the last 20 plus years? So many songs nobody has ever heard live.

Meh, I'll still go of course.
If there is a back half album tour they will market it as such to the die hards so the casuals can choose to stay home.

I see it a little differently (by the way as someone who has toured himself for many months in a row), but that's also a valid point of view and a good way of putting it.

If Wrathchild returns to the set next year and will be played for the whole 2025-26 run, it'll be its first full world tour since Metal 2000/Brave New World tour. :D

...unless we count A Matter of the Beast as a separate tour from AMOLAD, but even so, it's been a while!

I'm rather glad that it was omitted for the majority of Maiden England tour and completely for Legacy of the Beast & Future Past tours in favour of other stuff, but it'd be rather nice to see it back for next tour. Like, not if it came down to choice between it and something like The Clairvoyant or such, but assuming they want to play something from Killers, I'm totally fine with Wrathchild being perhaps the strongest contender.

I'd much prefer Killers, but since that song is essentially almost a four-minute drum solo it's not gonna happen. They didn't play it in '05 anyway. Wrathchild didn't really sound very good to me the last two times they played it and it's not that great of a song to begin with but it's inevitable.

Hell, it was even dropped on the third leg of ME which is surprising since it's their "safest" song that has a tendency to appear as last-minute setlist filler like in '03, '05, '10 and '17. Possibly even '14, it's a little weird it essentially replaced Clairvoyant on the Seventh Son retrospective tour.

Put Die With Your Boots On back in (last played 2005), put No Prayer For The Dying back in (last played 1991) and put Wasting Love back in (last played 1993).

Wasting Love is actually one of their top ten streamed songs, believe it or not.

Judas Be My Guide would be cool but they’ve never played it.

Outside those, I don’t have any desire for anything from the “classic” albums really, they’ve played all the good stuff to death. Alexander was the holy grail because it seemed there was no way in hell they’d ever do it. They can’t really compete with that now, what are they going to put in the set that would be as cool or rare as that? Nothing.

There’s a handful of reunion era stuff like Montsegur and Ghost of the Navigator that would be good to play, but that ain’t happening on the next tour and I can’t see them doing another tour after that one.

I have my doubts that Nicko can even get through the current tour, but that’s another story.

The only concern I have with the tour right now is maybe not as important as Dave's grandchildren or Nicko's health or anything else but I'm concerned about adding shows to the tour when mine is the last show on the tour :-) There's a high chance that at least one band member will be fried.

Wasn't it on the Dance of Death tour
