RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

As long as Steve, Dave and Adrian are there, it’s still Maiden to me.

Are you one of those lineup purists?
I never thought about that before, but now that the situation occured, I have to say yes probably.
It might have to do with the fact that I saw them live 53 times yet, and so it feels very weird.

Sometimes I am starting to contemplate that Maiden should have retired right after Legacy of the Beast tour. Yes, Bruce still can sing but i have strange feeling that after LOTB they passed some sort of Rubicon. In the words of Robert Murtaugh "They are too old for this shit"...
(make no mistake, selfish me wants Maiden to carry on, but my impartial part says otherwise)
And yes, Bruce kicked ass on his solo tour.

One question to all who are going to see Maiden on the upcoming tour, because I asked myself the same question and I'm curious if someone out there might feel the same way I do:
With the new drummer it feels not like Maiden anymore to me. I'm sure the shows will be good, they all give their best - but still, without Nicko it feels to me like this isn't Maiden anymore. It's the other five guys with a new drummer, but not Maiden. Incomplete. The gap just can't be filled, and I don't say that because I had a problem with the new drummer. I have not. I would feel the same way as I described if they had for example even Dave Lombardo or Mike Portnoy on drums - they could have the greatest drummer in the world behind the kit. So I have a feeling that I won't be really able to enjoy the shows, and I was seriously thinking about not going but selling my tickets.
How do you feel about it?

Not any different to when Bruce or Adrian had left for me. Will I miss him, absolutely. Is it still Maiden, of course

Retiring after LOTB 2019 would have certainly been going out on a HUGE high point in terms of performance and stage show.

But we wouldn't have had the Future Past tour, which despite Nickos stroke was still a fantastic fan service tour.

I saw the TFP tour in November and I have to respectfully disagree. Even with Nicko being less than 100%

Friend who went to Charlotte (sort of last minute) with me asked who the opening band was. I said The Hu and he freaked out. He was into the band and I had no idea, lol.
The Hu were very impressive. Definitely the best opening act at a Maiden show for me.

If my memory is correct, the crowd at the Charlotte were pretty into them too.

I think my openers get ranked a little like this:

Alice Cooper - he played all my favourites and got killed. I love Alice and this was a fantastic way to start my first ever concert.
The HU - they're cool and unique and a hell of a lot of fun.
Ghost - I liked them more then than now, when they've gotten a little lame with their constant pandering to pop nonsense, but this was Ghost at their best.
Within Temptation - I like a little symphonic metal, these guys are just fine.
Shinedown - not good, tried to kill us.
The Raven Age - they don't stink, they're the living embodiment of a 5/10. You can nod along but despite seeing them 4 or 5 times live I couldn't tell you the name of one of their songs.
Atreyu - absolutely not for me.

I think its about money.

There's a lot of overlap between my list and yours (removing Shinedown and Ateyu), and my comments are pretty much the same. The one thing I'll say about The Raven Age - the power ballad "Grave of Fireflies" is pretty good. But I would have hoped for more than one solid song after seeing them four times.
