RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

Opening acts are called by Steve because they are most listening bands on his playlist.

I remember Steve (British Lion) and The Darkness had a dispute around the days of pandemic. It was about either the security measures or about the choices of vaccine debate, nobody could understand :) I remember a youtube chat where Justin Hawkins didnt speak well of Steve but my memory is blurry. So now, seeing The Darkness here, is interesting...

Something to do with 'covid bubbles' as I recall, it was during that fairly nonsensical period where we were half-in, half-out of lockdown in the UK and the rules seemed to change on a weekly basis. I am sure I had seen a video from Justin on his channel clarifying he had no beef with Iron Maiden though, and not enough to turn down a paycheque at any rate! The Darkness are a great live band and they pretty much stick to the hits, so they're a good opening act for sure.

They share quite a bit of the road crew, so I'd imagine they helped smoothing things over.

Maybe they are waiting to announce for the long awaited Judas Priest collaboration :D

Jokes aside, I get that it is a bit underwhelming given the circumstances.

I was expecting more like Slayer lineup for their London show.

I know Maiden are bigger and they will sell a lot of tickets. But if we talk about biggest ever, "Maiden World". Priest would be perfect act as special guest.

Seems a bit expensive tbh. I assume the standing is going to be split into front/rear so that 127.50 doesn't even get you particularly close. most likely. And it seems like it doesn't even get you in to see what's on Friday unless you pay another 45 for camping or another, more expensive accom option.

This could have been advertised as the last Maiden show ever and I still wouldn’t go.

Honestly it all feels like they have scrambled together something last minute. I’m not too impressed.

Will this be the final line up. Could there be more additions. Only 5 bands so far. Even with a single stage there's room for another couple.

Perhaps some of their NWOBHM days pals. Or maybe UFO given they have been using them as an intro for 5 decades

For a legendary Metal Band that defied all the odds of almost no radio airplay, going through a rough 90s period and still being around 50 years later, this whole celebration and tour feels pretty underwhelming.

This has been my least favorite tour I've seen and the "special" show doesn't look that "special". At least on paper
