Sure it wasn´t The Who instead of The Hu?Opening acts are called by Steve because they are most listening bands on his playlist.
Well, now maybe but a few years ago other bands ended late and started lateIt's usually because the curfew for most outdoor concerts is 11pm so headliners usually take to the stage by 9pm.
I read the official announcement was meant to be the 25th.When they will announce the July 11 thing?

Something to do with 'covid bubbles' as I recall, it was during that fairly nonsensical period where we were half-in, half-out of lockdown in the UK and the rules seemed to change on a weekly basis. I am sure I had seen a video from Justin on his channel clarifying he had no beef with Iron Maiden though, and not enough to turn down a paycheque at any rate! The Darkness are a great live band and they pretty much stick to the hits, so they're a good opening act for sure.I remember Steve (British Lion) and The Darkness had a dispute around the days of pandemic. It was about either the security measures or about the choices of vaccine debate, nobody could understandI remember a youtube chat where Justin Hawkins didnt speak well of Steve but my memory is blurry. So now, seeing The Darkness here, is interesting...
They share quite a bit of the road crew, so I'd imagine they helped smoothing things over.I remember Steve (British Lion) and The Darkness had a dispute around the days of pandemic. I like all the support acts. I think the problem is that for such a big outdoor concert like this one, they really need at least one A tier band on support. Sabaton or Slayer would have been ideal.I don't have much to add to the discussion but The Hu are awesome and I'm glad they get to open for Maiden once again.
