RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

I'd love to hear an explanation as well. Some have said that it's too hard to sing, which is weird since there are so many Maiden songs that are much harder to sing and regularly make the setlists.
It's sort of like the Alexander excuse they used for years, that it was too difficult to play, yet the Iron Maidens and other tribute acts had been playing it for ages before Maiden decided to finally dust it off (and played it very well, of course). I'd think there's some more personal reason they're not bringing it back. Slows the pacing of the set in someone's opinion, maybe Steve or Bruce isn't a fan of it anymore, or some more vague reasoning like that.

Can anyone explain why Infinite Dreams is supposedly so hard to play that they never revive it? Technically speaking it's no harder than Hallowed and is infinitely (pun intended) easier than say, Rime or Powerslave.

It's no harder to sing or play than a lot of other Maiden songs. I don't get it either. Unless one or more of the band just don't like it. For me it's one of my top Maiden songs

For infinite dreams I imagine it's the vocals that give them trouble. Once it gets going there's very little room for Bruce to catch his breath.

Yet they still insist on playing Aces High live... (@Ascendingthethrone We need you here! ).

I guess it is more difficult to create some animation for Infinite Dreams than it is to have some puerile dogfight with Eddie as a character of the Battle of Britain. That and also that Aces High is the opener of one of the last great live albums, when the 2LP gatefold release was still a statement and not a contractual obligation.

Ι personally find Infinite Dreams really difficult to sing. Hallowed is also difficult, but they don't have a choice. (Hallowed and Aces are the 2 songs from the current set that Bruce is struggling). IMO Infinite is even more difficult. Bruce won't be able to sing that nowadays

They did when Barry McKay was onto them!

Maybe they are hoping the videos for Aces High is a distraction from the vocal performance…

In all seriousness, Bruce has admitted in interviews that Aces High is too hard for him that late in the set. Personally I would have preferred a song like Tailgunner in the spot. They could have still had the video and it would have given the song a chance to shine on the big stage. Its video could have been the thing that cements the song in their discography. Instead they went with Aces High which has been done to death.

I remember at the first gig in Budapest last year, when Churchill's speech started playing at the beginning of encore, I vaguely thought to myself "What the hell are you doing, for fucks sake".

After the performance of it, I thought to myself "This was rough, and it's the first night. Why?"
