RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Also got to meet Mr. Mind Ruler himself. A great pleasure, as we were IMBB-regulars back in the Early 2000s. And as fate would have it, Dennis Stratton happened to walk just by us, so Mindy and I got to shake his hands. What an honour as well!
Was great meeting you mate! And of course seeing Dennis was a very nice extra!

Some songs are a bit slower, indeed, but that's not a bad thing imo. Most of the songs work really well live with Simon.
They work really well, yes (almost all chosen songs are great live), a fatter and steady sound, album tempo or not, but I always prefer (a bit, even in studio) faster playing, especially for a song like Trooper or Fear. Not to mention Wasted, Rime, 2 Minutes. You know the energy, it varies. I won't blame Simon, although the drummer drives the band, and considering their age, but his more straightforward playing, I'm not sure I'll get used to it for some songs, fills, transitions (e.g. Hallowed, Seventh Son). I want to hear an official mix for a better judgement. But overall, very strong and enjoyable performances.

Helsinki's performances were very good (more in the channel below):

There is no footage of Phantom yet.
Phantom is Silver Lado.
I'd say he sounds better now than in the early nineties, where it sounded like he was gasping for breath on RTTH and just couldn't be arsed with the performance.
Let's not underestimate his high notes during the early 90's. He still sounds great, I can't wait to hear more different songs from it in the future.

I have to say that maiden usually sounds great at indoor venues and in outdoor stadiums dont know why they have that sound

When was the last time they played there.. book of souls tour? I cant remember

Just checked during the second part of legacy starting with senjutsu set
I was at Downlod in 2022. Maiden were great although the opening 3 songs went down like a led balloon. I am glad to have seen Senjutsu and Stratego on that tour, but they should have done the original Legacy set. If they had done Download in 2020 with the original set, it would have gone down as one of the legendary Maiden gigs.

I can see them coming back next summer. This show would go down a storm at a festival.

The Helsinki show was amazing!

This was my sixth time seeing Maiden (2010, 2011, 2013, 2022, 2023, 2025) and the experience on the floor is as great as it's ever been. The band seemed energetic and in good spirits, lots of smiles from all members during the night. Adrian probably had a bug or something because he didn't sing any backing vocals during the show. Still played great as always!

I think what stands out to me from this tour so far is how great Dave is doing. His playing feels particularly inspired and locked in. Bruce is still delivering on a high level and his stage charisma is off the charts. It's kind of incredible how good Maiden still is, how full of life and vitality. It feels like they truly enjoy what they are doing, that they actually want to be there, play together and give an amazing performance every night. That translates to the crowd as well, and it was joyous to notice how energetic the (notoriously reserved Finnish) audience felt up close on the floor. If they can stay healthy, the band can surely keep going for at least a few more years before the performances start to suffer.

Highlights for me were surely Phantom of the Opera, Powerslave, and quite surprisingly Wasted Years. I shed a few tears during that when singing along with the chorus. It's a passionate song to end the show with.

Maiden fans are promised an adequate set list, spanning the seven studio albums from ‘Iron Maiden’ to ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son’, with one painful exception and a reasonably spectacular and elaborate show !

Well. At least we now know better to wish anything from NPFTD or FOTD (not counting the title track from the latter). That's certainly better option compared to false hope. As a protest I'll give the 1990-91 bootlegs the most elaborate visit in the coming months.
