Wisniewski two games for obscene gesture.
Hjalmarsson two for nearly breaking someone's neck.
Good call?

Hjalmarsson should have gotten 5, I thought. I don't mind that they both got suspended, but 2 was a little light for the way he greased Pominville.

The Colorado / Detroit game was good, but damn the shootout was pretty bad.

It was a great game, Colorado kept coming back. I agree the SO was anticlimatic. One of the reasons I don't like the SO.

LOL, actually I think they will. the Leafs are on fire, while the Pens don't have much going for them outside of crosby, malkin and martin.

So I read a blog during the preseason about the Kovy deal and what it REALLY cost the Devils. It argued he is not worth the price, because for signing him the Devils are now over the cap space and had to trade/demote several players to make it under. Because of that they'd be skating with the bare minumum of 20 skaters if they were lucky. recent suspensions and injuries has already made them skate with 17 players! This guy ended up being prophetic and the Kovy deal thus far is not fairing them too well. I think this season is going to be hell for NJ, but once they get their cap issues under control by the trade deadline/next season they'll be ok. But seeing as they made this deal for BOTH the short term (they're hoping kovy's sure-fire 40 goals will finally bring another cup to NJ) and the long term (15 year deal) so far the short term... not working out.

The Devils will be fine next year after they shed cap space when Marty retires. They'll also have to move some players. But I expect this year to be a wash for them.

Lethonen will suffer some injury before Christmas... as will Dipietro. The Leafs are beasts though. I am surprised. Looks like the pieces finally came together. Though it is still early. I'll start to worry around Thanksgiving, by then those who usually do well will hit their stride and those to hot starts, but not much else will start to show.

Lehtonen might not get injured this time. I always wondered if he was feinting, you know. Because who wants to play in Atlanta. At least Dallas is serious about hockey.

True. What I am shocked about is the scoreboards. Have you seen this? 6-0, 4-3, 5-4, 4-1.... for the most part! You still see classic 2-1, 2-0 games, but by and large there are at least 6 goals scored in a game! fucking crazy!

Letestu for rookie of the year! I know, I know. It's still early, but damn man! this kid has been key in EVERY game for the Pens. While Crosby and Malkin were getting their bearings straight, this guy has been firing on full cylinders! I'm glad they pummeled OTT. It was a must win game against an obviously weak team that's hurting from lazy players and injuries.

Can you say holy shit? Cause I can! HOLY SHIT! THREE Hat Tricks tonight!

Stamkos had a hat trick and a four point night

Alfredson (speaking of OTT hehe) also had a Hat Trick reaching a career 1,000 points

And Rene Bourque of Calgary, a player who's goal production has been climbing with each season he's been in the league (last total of 27) also had a hat trick... hockey.... awesomeness! FYI just took out all my jerseys out from storage as it is finally chilly in Southern AZ and plan to wear one for each day of the week :D

Ok... So even though I'm broke I've made up my mind that I want to get three jerseys in the near future. Those being Minnesota's green jersey with the manuscript logo, Buffalo's "retro" Jersey and St. Louis new jersey which I find to be rather elegant. That is not my dilemma. My current pride and joy is my Boston third jersey with Neely's name, number and alternate captain "A". I figured I'd put a name and number to my next purchases, but I'm a bit torn as to who. For Buffalo I don't know if to go with Hasek or Ryan Miller. For St. Louis I'm between Shanahan and Hull. As for Minnesota, they haven't been in the league for long, but out of all their players I really like Miko Koivu. Gaborik is made of glass and never played a full season. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

As for the season, Stamkos off to a hot start, but my boy Crosby is once again in the top five and there's only been 9 games, dun dun dun.

As the biggest Buffalo Sabre fan I know, I say go Miller.
Hasek is the greatest player ever to wear a Sabres jersey, but he was about himself.
Miller is about the team, and probably will be remembered as the second-greatest Sabre ever, after Perreault.
Besides, an American college boy suits that uni much more than a European.

Blues, go Shanny (no Sabre fan could ever recommend Hull).

And for Minnesota, I'd suggest something different: pull a retro Minnesota North Star out the pack like Goldsworthy, Modano, Neil Broten, or even some real obscure Minny-born hockey hero like Sam Lopresti, who had the NHL record for most saves in one game — 80 — back in the original six days.
The Wild's too young to have developed anyone real jersey-worthy.

And I gotta say I like your taste. That Blues jersey may be my current favourite, and all three look sharp.

Thanks! That's what I was wondering about Minnesota... No current players have done true impact yet, but most of those other players ended up in Dallas. Broten was a huge fan favorite before Modano became the "face" of the franchise. As for the Sabre's, the French Connection crossed my mind, but I love Miller, because of what you mentioned: Team player, good goalie and not bad for an American lol.

Now I wish Versus had televised the Sharks game. Thornton had a hand in all 5 shark goals with a five point night (3,2,5) and his line mates had a goal and 3 assists each! The only time I've seen a line dominate like that is on the EA NHL games. SJ needs that line to do that if they are even considering the playoffs. The other news cracked me up. Not even two days ago there was a blog about how a healthy Hossa is a good Hossa and now there's a clip of him getting hurt, Ha! Spoke to soon mr. blog man. I'm also waiting for Gaborik and Havlat to get hurt like they always do.
