Don't want to dwell on this too much, but the saddest thing was what occured in the off-season. They lost Pronger, Peca, Samsonov, Bergeron, etc. They got dismantled instead of building on their surprising success...

OK, anyone wanna give me some goalie advice?

I have Turco, and he isn't doing so hot lately.. would you dump him for Ellis (next goalie avail) or keep him and see if he works out better?

I was thinking of swapping goalies too, but it says that my goalie games are MAXED.... are they done? so is my D.

P.S good move on Ellis. He was one of my original goalies lol, talk about a bad move to let him go...

The prob I have is that I ran only 2 goalies for 2 months or so (while MB was injured) so I'm 15 games short.. .and will likely end up down in games on goalies.

Big loss for the Blues tonight, Wasted.  They needed to beat Chicago.  It's not over yet but that hurts them.

It is looking more and more like Rick Nash's Jackets are gonna make the playoffs for the first time ever.  I have to admit, that team excites me.  It's an expansion team in an area that could be a great hockey market, and it has some amazing players!

Bummer.  I didn't have a chance to catch any of that.  I hate losing to the 'Hawks in any fashion, but especially with playoff hopes on the line.

Starting with their rookie goalie!

Crosby netted his 30th which marks his 3rd in four seasons to net at least 30 and looks like he'll have his 3rd in fourth 100 point season. He's doing well, but I'll admit I expected him to net more goals (kinda like Ovie). Ovie is a beast and only injury will stop him (like Brodeur). Crosby has already suffered a major set back with his ankle injury, but even then, for someone taughted as "The Next One) honestly 30 goals doesn't seem like much. More like the least he could do.

Hmm... I guess. He had 51 and 55 in his first two seasons before setting the 92 goal mark. Taking the era into consideration (a time when a 3.25 GAA was considered "good"), I guess 30 goals is purdy good. In going over the stats of the old and new (Ovie, Crosby, Gretz and Lemieux) The only thing in the way of Lemieux was his own health. He played about 500 less games than Gretz... FIVE HUNDRED and still managed to almost reach 700 goals... ahh the curse of what ifs.

there is no way Crosby is going to threaten Wayne's records. For one, they are playing in two different eras. Back in the 80's goaltending was'nt exactly the artform it is today. The goalies were alot smaller, the equipment was smaller but heavier and teams played a more wide open game. Plus we are talking averaging 1.92 points per game over 1487 games. Wayne has more assists than any one else has points. That in itself is mindboggling. He had four 200+ point seasons, and nine 150+ point seasons. When is the last time any one ever broke 150? Then there are the teams he played on. The 83-88 Oilers were the best offensive teams that the game will probably ever see. Look at the sheer talent  those teams had and look at what Pittsburgh has. They are two different teams. I also don't remember Wayne getting as hurt as often either. I would thin Alex O would have a better shot. Or even Evgeni Malkin. I mean Malkin is the points leader again.

I just can't see any of today's players amassing almost 3000 pts.  Crosby would need to get like 125 pts/year for all 20-22 years of his career to even come close.

But I know how deep that pro Nova Scotia bias runs, LC. Anyway I wish someone would be able to take a shot at the numbers, at least for the news media here in the states to taake notice to our game anyway!

Hey, I am definitely pro Crosby, but like I said, if his career continues as it has been he will be one of the all-time greats.  If.  But we can't judge his career till it is over.  Then we can do that - we can pass judgement and say, "Yeah, Crosby really was as good as advertised."

Same with AO, though, I think that if he died tomorrow he might make it into the HHOF.

ARgh!  OT loss, and we are not tied for points, but in 9th place.  We need a couple wins now!

Either way, good run, and I think the Blues have a pretty good goalie now.
Hey!!!  HD NHL on NBC!!  I get to watch Det vs Min!!  ...been a while.
