Went to my first game in ages yesterday. Färjestad - Leksand in the SHL. Sold out (8250), special jersey just for this game... Of course it was a defeat.

Ha!

Since the Bruins AND the Penguins are a fucking dumpster fire, I'm just enjoying Ovi's goal record chase. Crosby has such little support he can't get to 600 goals (sigh).

Also rooting for Edmonton, McJesus and Co. need their cup.

In the Swedish Hockey League right now, the top three points scorers all belong to Färjestad after 20 rounds played (of 52).

We have scored 80 goals this season, with the second team in that statistic at 65.

And yet, here we are at 5th place in the series. Our goaltenders are placed dead last in the series... I don't even think we need a legend like Martin Gerber, just a decent one with a big confidence.

It's been an enjoyable day with a 7-2 win. I streamed the game, 3 minutes away from the arena.

The 4 nations tournament has been pretty entertaining. US is looking real good
I never thought I'd see a U.S. team with such a stacked lineup of forwards.

By comparison my favorite player out there Jack Hughes (I'm a NJ Devils fan) has been limited to 1 assist, and these two big physical teams have unfortunately shined a spotlight on his comparatively slight frame. He's getting pushed around a bit in the small sample size I've been able to watch.

Maybe Finland can do something on the PP and make it a semi-game ... will be curious what the US does against Sweeden, looking like it will end up being a pretty meaningless game for both teams pending any major comeback by Finland

Well, way to go, Sweden, for taking a game off the Americans. But I think Canada vs USA was the likely outcome for the final. I'll miss the game as I have Charge tickets.

I expect some people will boo the Canadian anthem, but not as many as are rightfully booing the American anthem in Canada. I expect to do that myself on Thursday, just at a smaller game.
