Weip, that's all she wrote. Congrats to St. Louis on their first cup ever. So many things to like. Their first cup, Bennington breaking the rookie record for postseason wins, boewmeaster and petri Angelo finally winning, I like tarasenko and O'Reilly as players so happy for them along with Steen and perron. So it's bittersweet for me as a bruins fan, but ultimately as a hockey fan. Great series.

Was this Chara's last game? I will never forget him and Sheldon Souray forming the top defensive pair in the SHL during the lockout in 2004/2005 for my hometown team, Färjestad BK.

Boston will be back. Bergeron as captain, maybe Rask, but there is a lot of young talent to bring us back. McAvoy, Pastrnak, Debrusk, etc. Woke up sad today. Until next season.

Karlsson signs with SJ for 8 years. On the surface it looks like a win-win deal, but A LOT can happen in 8 years. After SJ lost in the final in 2016 I thought their window had closed. They're still strong, but for how long? Their core is aging and Karlsson's no spring chicken either at 29.

I think all coaching positions have been filled with the Ducks promoting Dallas Eakin from their AHL affiliate. Tippet in Edmonton and can't recall the others at the moment, but I know the Senators got someone, no one of note, unsurprisingly.

I was watching a Stanley Cup documentary on Youtube, Names on the Cup. They had a part on LOSING the Stanley Cup. The players that were interviewed (almost exclusively cup winners and hall of famers), were the most bitter when they felt they were robbed of the cup. Bobby Hull said it best, "It wasn't that we lost, but the WAY that we lost." Oh man, that reminded me of Boston's past two Final failures. 2013 HURTS... to this day, just HURTS. This one? I was sad for about a day, and now I'm really happy for the Blues.

Looking forward of the Awards, free agency and the Draft.

Tampa Bay's Ryan Callahan has been forced to retire due to a degenerative back disease, much like Nathan Horton and David Clarkson.

He'll be on IR, for the year, I'm sure he'll officially announce retirement after that. Similar to Marc Savard with the Bruins after his concussion.

Corey Perry bought out by the ducks. Had two years left on an 8 year contract. He's 34 and production did dip considerably. Claims to have a fire now... Any guesses as to who might want him? Calgary? Ottawa? Edmonton?

So no surprises during the first round. As predicted, Hughs and Kakko went to NJ and NYR respectively and it was wide open after that.

Now it's trades and buyouts and resigning until July 1st.

Subban moved to the Devils in a salary dump, but one that makes the Devils much, much better. A couple other decent trades, but the Subban move is the biggest one, by far.

Perry is apparently being looked at for a one-year prove-it contract in Nashville.

William Karlsson gets his 8 year contract at 5.9M per year. Not bad, not bad at all.
He could have done better on the open market, especially if he hammered out another year at 30ish+ goals. But he wanted to stay in Vegas so he took a hometown discount.

Helps that Nevada has no income tax.

How much better do you think he could have gotten? I don't see him worth more than 6.5M. It's nice to see him take the discount, not many players put team over money.
