We were talking about a full NHL participation team.
Since winning the Olympic gold in 2002 (first in 50 years), Canada has definitely been the team to beat. Turino was embarrassing to say the least, but Canada has fielded Gold medal contending teams when fully staffed with NHL players since.

YES! YES! OMFG YES! Man, what a game! The Bruins were certainly rusty for the first 20 minutes or so and some mistakes cost them dearly, like Pastrnak's reverse no-look pass to no one. But once they got going they grinded the Blues down, worked them hard and eventually dominated play. St. Louis also got distracted by showing Backes they weren't pals anymore. I was disappointed with our power play. 1 for 5 for the #1 PP in the Playoffs at .34 is unacceptable. They need to work on that. I'm glad we connected at least once, and it was enough to keep the Blues from gaining any momentum, but still, hoping for a better game 2. The Bruins are a fucking steamroller! :applause:

I can't wait for Onhell's comments.

You'll find them disappointing. After having a night to cool off, it's whatever. Reminded me of losing to Chicago in 6. That wasn't the refs fault, but the pain was similar, felt... unfair, cheated. I was furious to say the least. I wanted the Bruins fans to take the ice. I was happy they threw shit on the ice. Now though, We still have game 6 and 7. We didn't lose because of that goal. We lost when we failed to convert on the power play. The #1 PP in the playoffs failed to convert on 2 occassions. Our forwards NEVER got their shit together literally falling and tripping over themselves during golden opportunities.

I seriously think it all started with Cassidy's decision to dress Chara and sit Backes to have a 7th defenseman. That killed any possibility of rolling four lines, our KEY strength was handicapped for our injured Captain. The Bruins production has been DEEP. Line one hasn't been what it was during the season and most of the heavy lifting has been done by lines 3 and 4, Charlie Coyle, Sean Koraly, Nordstrom and Johanson specifically. The D has been active with goals from Krug, Carlo even injured Grzl... whatever, him. So to sit Backes, who also has been a big contributer since being inserted back into the line-up, to accomodate Chara and a seventh D cost us big. The forwards never got rolling.

So did the non-call suck? Of course it did, was it what did us in? No. On to Game six. I told my brother I'd get a six pack for the game... I may end up with something stronger.

Correct. The Big Bad Bruins have taken advantage of their share of poor ref calls in the past.

Blown calls are a part of hockey. I mind those way less than I mind "just let them play" mentality. If they were trying to call most things and missed one I'm OK with it.

Blues up 3-2 and game 6 is on home ice, interesting...both New Jersey in 2001 and Calgary in 2004 lost the Cup final this way.

New Jersey in 2001
Tell people in St. Louis not to insult Tuukka Rask as the people in New Jersey insulted Patrick Roy.

And considering what happened in Calgary in 2004, it makes sense because that is one of the worst ref/replay decisions of all time.

I was talking to a friend about the final yesterday and I told him I'm OK with either result. I'd be really happy if Boston won, but on the other hand, St. Louis winning their first cup would be great as well.

That's what happens when the Bruins roll four lines. I wonder which team will show up on Wednesday. The one that dismantles teams or the one that can't even score two goals.
