Official Hockey discussion thread

I'd like to see a San Jose/ Boston final, with the Sharks winning the cup in Boston. Joe Thornton raising the cup there would be absolutely epic.

Maybe, maybe not. He plays hard on the edge, but crossed it last night. Allain Vigneault kept putting out his top lines after the score was 6-2. In the old days, that was a sign of disrepect to your opponent and would have resulted in The Sedins, Kessler, or Burrows getting hurt. Especially putting the #1 power play unit out. Anyway, I can't believe Marleau dropped the gloves with Bieksa. Thought that would have had San Jose going in the third, but the Ben Eager show put the kaibosh on that. Sharks have to get more from Pavelski and Heatley.

Rumor has it Atlanta may be packing up and heading to Winnipeg.

I saw why he was going in over and over, the girl with the pierced nips.

That's motivation enough for the Sharks to win a game in SJ to force Game 5 back in Vancouver. That is if they like muffin tops!

Nothing wrong with a muffin top lol. As long as you don't have to push up the roll to get to the goods.

" The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin, that's what what I said!"

It appears  Derek Boogaard died from a mix of alcohol and Oxycodone :(

Amazing comeback by the Lightning yesterday. Thought they were out of it.

Atlanta has been sold to an ownership group from Winnipeg. Hope they bring back the Jets.

Telling you man, I didn't write that thread for nothing... underestimating pain killers is becoming a big problem...

Yup, but the B's are back on top to win it tonight at the Garden! Boston Vancouver final here we come!

The Sharks are still the undisputed champs of choking.

I have a feeling the cup will go to one of the two Eastern teams (likely the Bruins).

Brian Rafalski retires...I am shocked. I would have thought Lidstrom would hang them up before him.

I am impressed that Thornton and Marleau played so well this postseason. Too bad Stetoguchi, Pavelski and the Dany "The Douche" Heatley could'nt get any points.

I think Vancouver can beat either Boston or Tampa. They have speed, size, skill and snarl. They also have depth.

Shame about Heatley. Such a waste.
I'm with Nigel on the Canucks, as much as it hurts to admit it.
A Canuck cup would make too many people in my part of the world painful to be around.

It would be good if a Canadian based team won the Cup. Maybe the third time is the charm for Vancouver.

The reasons I have no respect for Heatley is that he treated the Ottawa Senators like shit. Demanded a trade because he could'nt win with Ottawa. After he was given a second chance not only in hockey, but also life, with a near fatal accident. Then on top if it all, he disappears when it mattes the most.

Congratulations to the Bruins! We now have an epic-level showdown about to commence. The last four or five finals have been simply awesome:

2011: Vancouver vs. Boston
2010: Chicago vs. Philly
2009: Pittsburgh vs. Detroit
2008: Detroit vs. Pittsburgh

That's classic hockey. None of this sun-belt Gary Bettman bullshit.

Is that a subtle prediction? ;)

I'm going to try to watch as many games as possible. Thankfully they're all 8 PM Eastern time...

It's not a subtle prediction, I've been saying Vancouver since the season started. I've been pretty damn right since the lockout.

2006: Detroit (wrong)
2007: Anaheim (right)
2008: Detroit (right)
2009: Pittsburgh (right)
2010: Chicago (right)
2011: Vancouver (almost there)
