I haven't heard Potvin's colour. But I agree with Nig on Pierre McGuire. "I don't have anything relevant to say about what just happened on the ice, so I'll tell you this guy played for Brent Sutter and the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL, like that's gonna mean anything. Also, big body presence."

Fuck you, Pierre.

It was the dream team of Doc Emmerick and Pierre McGuire yesterday on NBC. :turd: I think Potvin does the Florida Panthers games. Yes LC, McGuire contribues nothing to the broadcasts. Useless fucking tidbits of nothing. That is because he is a terrible coach and knows not even the simplest aspects of the game. At least Potvin played the game and knows something. McGuire always looks like he's trying to think of something to say that no one else knows, but little does he realize no fucking cares about what he knows.

Yeah, Luongo's stats are probably way better than Schneider's.

I think Luongo pulled his groin in game 4.

That's possible, but there's been no indication of that.

For the record, Schneider's an excellent goalie, and put up equally good numbers as Luongo.  It is just a strange decision.  It's been clear that Luongo is the starter, and it seems bizarre to yank him after a game where everyone played terrible.  Why not move the Sedins to the 4th line?  Or Erhoff to the third pairing?  They were equally culpable in game 5.

What is more bizzare , the fact the Canucks benched a Vezina trophy finalist or that the Flyers decided to put a guy in net who only played one game the whole season?

Luongo.  The Flyers brought back Leighton expressly to give them options, and they already indicated that they were completely fine with replacing the starting goalie after a single game.

Nice goal by Frolik on the penalty shot. Hopefully the'Hawks can win it in OT and force game 7. Can't believe Schneider got hurt on that play.

Hawks win, Game 7.

A comeback from 3-0 has only happened 3 times, once was last year. Gonna be a hell of a game 7.

Preds win! Fucking pumped about that! How about Selanne though, 6 goals in 6 games? Can you believe he's 40? Imagine if he didn't have that fucked up knee, he'd have scored 700 goals at least.

Is Vancouver taking a swig of Choke-a-Cola? I think Chicago just dumped it down their throats.

I think Selanne is the only one left playing from the run and gun days. Glad he did'nt hang them up. 76 goals his rookie year is a record that will never be broken.

Don't know if he's a first ballot HOFer, but he deserves to be in there.

3 time goal scoring leader (1 Rocket Richard Trophy), Calder Trophy, Masterson Trophy, a ton of international hardware, a Stanley Cup, over 600 goals, all-time Olympics leading scorer, had the best 40+ season of any player not named Gordie Howe, and 1 time winner of the "Sexiest Man in Finland" contest.

Depends on who he goes up against, but there's not many other big-name retirements this year.

When does he become eligible?  2014?  If this is Hasek's last year, I would think he gets in before Selanne.

Also, if by some cosmic injustice Pavel Bure doesn't make it to the Hall by then, I'd put Bure before Selanne as well.

yeah, 2014 if he retires. Hasek might play another year. He seems to want to go forever.

Bure's been retired for awhile. I don't think he's getting in anytime soon. He has less goals than Selanne, less hardware, and no Cup. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but I don't think he's better than Selanne in terms of a career.

Even if all three of them are eligible, the HHOF can add 4 players a year.
